PITTSBURGH - CatholicMatch is now just a thumb click away! The launch of its mobile site, m.CatholicMatch.com, is causing many single Catholics to jump or shall we say text for joy. Now Catholic Match user check and send mail, browse profiles and send emotigrams from anywhere they have a mobile device.
The idea of a mobile site was proposed in a September poll that nearly 3,000 members answered. The majority indicated they would be interested in such an option, and many wrote enthusiastic comments. "Yes, please," Diane-497842 wrote. "I live on my Blackberry." Steven-360218 added, "iPhone app, please!"
More men requested an iPhone application, while more women voted for a Blackberry app. The good news is the highly-functional mobile CatholicMatch works for both. Mobile sites are nothing new and it had been a request by some users for a number of years however in the last 18 months the demand just exploded. Once we ran a poll about mobile use we knew we needed to act quickly. Our next step will be to provide mobile applications for such platforms as Apple's iPhone, Blackberry and Google Android. "We want to make the site as easy to use as possible, so this marked an important step," CatholicMatch Co-Founder Brian Barcaro said.
The launch of a mobile site caps a year of innovation for CatholicMatch, begun with the creation of a proprietary in-line chat system - the first of its kind among dating sites - and followed by the creation of two new chat rooms in June and a site redesign later in the summer.
"We're always looking for the next improvement," Barcaro said. "And we especially love it when our members point us to it."
