PITTSBURGH, PA - Ten years into it and surging toward its 500,000th member, the CatholicMatch staff is not resting on its laurels. On the heels of its 10th-anniversary celebration, before all the confetti was swept away, the staff has unveiled a redesigned site.
The redesign includes a new homepage, new internal pages and a task bar for easier navigation. The site's many popular features have been reorganized to make them easier to find and use. Aesthetically, the redesign provides a cleaner, more modern but classic look, employing large, artistic pictures, contemporary type and a light, fresh color scheme of taupe and sky blue.
"We know our site is responsible for thousands of marriages, so it's imperative that we make it as user friendly as possible," CatholicMatch Co-Founder Brian Barcaro said. "We're never stagnant. This is like CatholicMatch 7.0. We've kind of lost count!"
The facelift is the latest step in a busy year that heralded the industry's first in-line chat system and later added chat rooms (which act as a virtual events) to the site.
Barcaro pointed out, "As a company we have always leaned towards technology and user interface but we had not put much effort into building an image and our brand. While these latest updates were in part to imporve useability it also was to help us better reflect the type of service we provide through image. Needless to say we are happy with the results and the response has been almost unamiously positive."
The staff is constantly seeking members' feedback, fielding their emails, observing their habits and exploring new features in periodic polls. "What part of a member's profile is the most informative?" one asked. "What helps you start communication with another member?" "What made you decide to join CatholicMatch?" Each question elicited more than 2,000 responses.
