Hi All - Yes, Mary is correct that I am STUCK in Pittsburgh, PA. I just got to my room and it is 3 AM. I still do not know when I will fly next. Thank goodness for Mary being another wonderful event planner to step in my place. I am hoping to make it to Chicago for at least mass and dinner. I have wanted to see all of you! Mary & I will be in touch.

2 am update: Janet ran into plane troubles and is spending the night in Pittsburgh, with no idea right now when she may fly out tomorrow. She hopes to see us Saturday, but has asked me to take over as coordinator if she can't make it. Our Indy group will try to meet up with everyone at 1:30 at the food court, and just plan to stick to Janet's schedule. If our bus is late, we'll find you whenever we get there.
Janet won't be able to take phone calls while she's flying, so my cell is 317-694-7743 for texts/calls in the morning. Let me know if your plans change please. I'll be on the bus but should have reception. See you all at the Pier!

Thank you Juli for all of your help with giving people the advice on the bus to and from the Cathedral. There will be quite a few vehicles at Navy Pier that we might be able carpool to the church, otherwise, people will need to take the bus or taxi. John - thank you for mentioning the price for parking at Navy Pier. I have been working in NYC all week and have been working on average 15-18 hours a day. Please make sure to research which transportation option you want to go with and partner up with people if you want to. We have people coming all different times of the day. I will be emailing all of you my cell phone that you can use on Saturday. I will not be available via phone at all on Friday since I will be flying from NYC that evening after working all day.

Just for your info: The parking garage that is located right on the pier is only $18.00, before you park miles away and pay to take the bus to and from consider parking right on the pier, if it is not already full by the time that you arrive. Also just so everyone know, the snow sculptors will be located in Gateway Park located just west of the entrance to Navy Pier.

Justin, we will miss you. Hopefully you can join in at another CM event in the future. Good luck with the car stuff.
Janet and Juli (for planning purposes), I'm coming up with the Indy crew on the Megabus, doing all the activities and going to dinner. Will be staying the night at a hotel and all of us Indy peeps are bussing back on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to this and praying for good travel weather!!!

Tim ~ That really stinks that you are not able to make it since it would have been our first time of actually meeting each other after these years of knowing each other!!! I know all about system upgrades since my work life is all about computer systems as well. I hope they push it back so that you can make it. :-)

If you are driving and might be able to help with rides from Union Station - post it here please. The Indy MegaBus riders are due to arrive at noon.
Also, if you'll be joining us for dinner - post that here as well. We'll need a good count to make proper arrangements.
BTW - non paying members CAN post on Event pages. So even if you don't currently have an active subscription - you can RSVP and communicate here so we know to look for you.
Praying for colder temps......

Frank - that is great that you know FIRST HAND how amazing Fran's (my cousin) work is. It is a shame that he is too busy organizing the event that he doesn't create a sculpture of his own during the event. He did his first year, but hasn't been able to do it since then. The sculptures are amazing! Like I said in a previous post... pray for it to be below freezing so the sculptures don't melt.

Hi All - I hope you all can take a quick look at your transportation options - car, train, taxi, bus. I am leaving all transportation to Navy Pier up to all participants. I know that Mary from Indiana is coordinating some people riding the Mega Bus. Some people from WI plan to ride the train and some plan to drive. Please reach out to the participants who've mentioned what they plan to do so that you can coordinate with someone who is doing something similar to what you need to do.
I personally am flying from New York the night before from a 2 week work trip, which is why my time is limited. I have posted all of the times and locations well in advance to help people know where to go and when. I am going to be asking help from a couple of people who have organized some events in the past as well. Mary - 363093 and I talk frequently, so if you are not able to get a quick answer from me due to my work schedule, she will likely know the answer..... or knows how to hunt me down for the answer. :-) I am going to be working with one of the other participants to help make sure our dinner location is secured.

Janet, thanks again for putting this together. So far, 5 of us Indy folks (Rob and his harem, plus me - as his cousin, I'm NOT a part of his harem, lol) are making the trip via MegaBus and spending the night at the Double Tree. We are really looking forward to this!

Monica - the snow sculptures are amazing! They will have the event even if it doesn't snow. They have one of the ski hill places come in with a snow machine and make the snow for the sculptures. So don't fret people... this should most likely happen! Just pray for once that it is cold enough to keep the snow frozen. (I can't believe that I just prayed for it to be cold.) LOL

Hi ~ Do all of you reading this post realize that you have a great combination of people coming to this event? We have some of the regular Attendees from annual Wisconsin/Illinois events as well as the Indianapolis regular Attendees coming to this event. For any of you worried about not knowing anyone, don't worry... you will meet plenty of us that are used to easing that tension for someone new. Just be ready for a BLAST!!!
