A word about parking at the hotel: Parking at the Quality Inn is something the hotel charges $18.31 including tax each night for overnight parking. HOWEVER, there are other lot options nearby. The front desk told me for the people here for day of event stuff like the speed dating or other one day events, there is free public street parking on Thomas Street just one street over from John Street nearby and in front of the hotel on 6th Avenue. There is another pay lot behind the Quality Inn that I don't know the price of. To park one-time events in the Quality Inn lot costs $8 for a permit but you'd need to tell them you are with the CM group and that you talked to Anna who checked on the permits.

Hi Everyone! Now that I have the lay of the land, here is more info on all the ways to get from the airport to Quality Inn at 618 John Street for those that don't already know: All the ways to the hotel from the airport: Cheapest way (about $5 total) is to take the light rail from the airport to West Lake Center. Ask directions to the Link light rail and it's a decent walk but reasonable. At the kiosk you pay $2.75 for your lightrail ticket. Take the light rail to West Lake Center. It takes some time. Ask directions out of the building and to the monorail. I turned right outside the building, watched for the Monorail large sign and I think it was near Nordstroms and I crossed the street. Right there on 5th, there is an elevator for you as you will likely need that with luggage. Take it to the 3rd floor monorail. This elevator is accessible from outside the front of the building where the big monorail sign is. Go to the 3rd floor, you'll need cash here to pay for the $2.25 one-way ticket. If you buy roundtrip that is only good through 11 p.m. of the day you buy it so I recommend one-way. This process from the time my plane taxi'd in at 9:57 a.m. took through 12 p.m., about two hours. It's good if you have the time and it gets you familiar with how to navigate and see Seattle like a local and then you know how it's done. When you get off the monorail, exit the main exit with everyone and walk left down the sidewalk toward the streetlights. You'll see broad & 5th street. Cross that street and that should put you across the street in front of the mcdonalds and its marquee sign. Walk toward the radio news station and before you get there, hang a left at the stop sign. This is not marked but it is John Street. Walk 2 or 3 blocks past Best Western and Travelodge and it will be on your left right after the Travelodge. From the airport, there is also The Shuttle Express which is $19 and the number to book with them is 425-981-7000. A cab will run you about $45-$50.

Hi! I am staying at the Quality Inn near the Space Needle (the event venue) Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and my room can fit up to three other female roommates each night (among two queen beds). I have two people I am waiting to hear back from for Saturday evening but I have called or emailed them today so, first come first serve. The total on the room including tax is $96.79 per night. But if I have one other person each night is it $48.39 including tax for each night (or $32.26 if a 3rd roommate comes through or $24.09 each person each night if we have four roommates), and paid to me in advance of us getting in the room. The best way to reach me at this point is likely cell: 720-309-5321. I look forward to seeing you all this weekend!

Catholic Speed Dating in Seattle has several signups! I have taken several calls, both men and women, but not everyone is RSVPing on the event page as they have told me they want to remain somewhat anonymous. Today is the last early pay discount day by mail (info on the site listed above under Friday events). There is the $30 discount if postmarked today and $40 at the door. So happy to be invited to participate with this event! Anna B! 720-309-5321 or DateCatholic@Aol.com to RSVP.

Hi Everyone,

Just a gentle reminder that I will be asking participants for $25 to cover the rental of the hotel meeting room on Friday and Saturday as well as for snacks and refreshments for after Mass on Friday evening. This fee is for the entire weekend, it is not part of the Speed dating event:-)

I will be collecting as people check in on Friday and throughout the weekend. Looking forward to meeting all of you:-)
