YES!!!! YES!!! YES!!! I was lucky to go last year as part of a World Youth Day pilgrimage last year. We all had an awesome time!! 51 of us from the Archdioceses of Melbourne, Australia all got along. When you have a big group like that there's usually someone that's too loud or rude but I didn't coma across anyone in our group like that at all! Our Chaplains where great.
We had an excellent tour guide Louis. If anyone was going to go to the Holy Land I wouldn't think twice about recommending him! I had a big heart for our bus driver though! He (Dudi) didn't say much but he was a lovely man! I remember our last night in Jerusalem at the buffet at our hotel he put his arm around me and said, "I'm going to miss you guys." When he would give you a hug it was like receiving a hug from your dad!
Going to the places you hear about at Mass. Words cannot describe how amazing of an experience it is! We had mass on a boat on the Sea of Galilee! I remember one of our Chaplains Fr Burke mentioned in his sermon as he pointed out to the sea something along the lines of, "Jesus would have done his fishing over there.."
Sure Israel border security is can feel as though it's over the top. Can't remember how many times we got our passport checked! It's the media that hypes things up. I would DEFINITELY go again!
