I was disappointed. He kept switching back and forth from Spanish to English so I couldn't follow a lot of what he was saying. From what I know, English is still the national language of the U.S. I doubt he would have addressed the French in Arabic, or the Germans in Turkish, so why the Americans in Spanish. I thought it was blatantly disrespectful to the American people. And I speak a fair amount of Spanish.

I was blessed to be in Yonkers with young people from our diocese. The Holy Father is truly an inspiration man...My daughter, who rarely leaves my side in large crowds, ran towards the Pope Mobile as he came from the main grounds of the seminary to the athletic fields. The security was worth it. Hats off to the Police and Firefighters in Yonkers...

I loved his description of marriage (as what couples who co-habitate without marriage are missing: "A mutual self-giving of spouses in union with Christ sealed by a public promise of an indestructible lifelong commitment." (subject to my memory, but that was the jist of it.)

I would have loved to see him! But I was at home from work the entire week he was here, after I had some minor surgery. I was glued to EWTN. That was the UPSIDE of being temporarily infirm. I love our new Pope. I just love him. I felt a true wave of the Spirit all around him and I pray it lingers in every heart and touches every soul in America.
