Yes, my parish and the surrounding parishes did not have one for my age group so I have created my own. I was tired of young adult groups that were only social gatherings. You can be social but grow spiritually, our first meeting with be in January 2012!! Can't wait.

My parish use to have a young adult group and the times I went it was very small and all they talked about was going to bars and drinking.. I am a non drinker and I was there hoping to not only meet people but to also grow in my faith and it was clear that wasn't going to happen. The group no longer existed a couple of months later. It's a shame! There are a few other Catholic churches near me but not groups for us in our early to mid 20's!

i don't belong to any groups having to do with the catholic church, simply for the fact that they will probably ask for more money.I have noticed that church wants more and more and more money and they live tax free anyways.NO THANK YOU,i have god and jesus in my heart and that doesn't cost a thing

I belong to the Society of Our Mother of Peace. We go door to door and try to get people from our area to come to Mass On Saturday morning we go to Mass and we meet for 2 hours to discuss scripture and if we met anyone who might like to come to Mass or join the Church. Wonderful way to show your faith in Jesus.

In my community, the singles groups are either younger (20-30) or widowed elderly people. No 'inbetweeners like me.' it would be great to have a faith-based group that was inclusive of people recently retired that are single or divorced and that it wouldn't be a meat market!

I joined the Christian Singles of Southeastern Connecticut at the request of someone who was already a member. She's no longer a member. This is a Diocese of Norwich sponsored group that welcomes those who are still single (never married) and single again. Dues are reasonable and are used primarilly for postage of newsletter and charitable contributions. If you live in the New London/Groton/Norwich area and are interested in joining please send me an e-mail with affordable event suggestions. Note: we usually carpool for events. I haven't been able to attend recent events due to conflicts. Again, please e-mail me. If you are too old for the parish sponsored youth groups this is the place for you. We often meet for lunch or dinner -- business and pleasure. We need the younger generations to sign-up. Picnics, Mass, plays, and movies, etc. I can inform the Treasurer.

There is a big void in Catholic Adult Singles Groups according to your poll. There are many, many lonely widowed/divorced Catholics who would love to meet another single, adult, Catholic mate to share/enhance their lives. So many other "faiths" regard this issue with a "Singles Ministry" within individual churches. Why is the Catholic church so lagging behind???

I find that real Catholics need to hang out with one another- it is so easy to become part of the crowd , to become part of the secular world. With prayer & sharing your life with like minded friends - it helps me stay centred & alive for Christ!!
God bless!! I use face book to stay centred too.

I am a youth leader at my hometown parish before when I was still a student. Now, that I am working, I am a member of Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon (The Servant of the Lord), a movement of single professionals and working people. The movement is dedicated to winning other singles to a full commitment to Jesus Christ and to committed personal relationships with other Christians.

I go to a Catholic young adults group at Our Saviour's in Cocoa Beach, FL - catholicyam.com A young couple runs it and it's really good with a bible study and some fun social activities. Some people are starting up one again in the Fall at Ascension in Melbourne, FL. I wish my parish would start one too...Holy Name (biggest parish in Brevard county) I'm looking at you!
