Avast, me hearties! Please join us on Saturday and Sunday with activities beginning on the 55' topsail schooner "Capt Kidd" in Galveston Bay! She's a 19th Century replica of the schooners that once sailed the seven seas. We will set sail from the Kemah Marina (near the Kemah Boardwalk).
When: Saturday, October 15 – Sunday, October 16
Where: Kemah Boardwalk --- located 25 minutes south of Houston
Time: Beginning at 4:45 on Saturday
You are welcome to attend ONE or ALL activities. This event is a great opportunity to meet CMrs for locals and for those within driving distance of Houston. You can drive in on Saturday afternoon and drive home on Sunday following mass.
Never been to a CM Houston Event? Saturday and Sunday will be very relaxed; no pressure, no expectations with a friendly, welcoming environment. We simply get to know one another and by the end of the event, you’ll have some new Catholic friends.
For Overnight Guests: Passport Inn -- Single, Double Bed – 79.99
601 Texas Avenue Kemah, TX 77565
To obtain this rate you will need to CALL IN-HOUSE at 281-538-0011
4:45 – Meet at the dock of the Capt Kidd Pirate Ship near the Kemah Boardwalk
Price: $30 for a 2 hour sail on Galveston Bay. The schooner holds 28 people only. You will need to call Capt Kidd to reserve a spot on the pirate ship. This charter fills up fast! Please call and make a reservation ASAP. You can pay for the sail when you arrive with cash or credit card but, you do need to call and hold a place on the pirate ship for yourself prior to the event.

(Information on parking, directions and what to bring is below)
7:30 – Walk over to the Kemah boat shuttle (free) and take the shuttle to the Kemah Boardwalk
Dinner: (Free) Picnic on the boardwalk courtesy of… me. We’ll just grab a table or two on the boardwalk, share a meal and enjoy getting to know other great CMers.
Hang out on the boardwalk: Following dinner we can all take a stroll on the boardwalk and if you’d like – games, rides or even feed the sting rays. ….. for the bold, there is the Bullet Roller Coaster!
10:00 – Walk over to Monkey Bar to have a drink, listen to live music and play some pool.
8:00 – Breakfast at the Seabrook Classic Café
10:00 – Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church
---------- I hope to see you there and I look forward to meeting you! ----------
Parking, Directions and What To Bring
Weekends are busy and getting over the bridge will likely take longer than you anticipate due to traffic. Please plan accordingly. When you turn on 6th street to enter Kemah – take your very FIRST left onto Texas Ave (right after the Kemah Food Mart gas station). You will see numerous areas to park under the Kemah bridge. This is your best option for parking. If you park in a parking lot – there is a charge. I think it’s around $7 and it’s cash only.
Location of Captain Kidd (Walking distance from the event hotel - Passport Inn)
Capt Kidd is located across the street (Texas Ave) from the Kemah Food Mart (506 Texas Ave) located on the corner of Highway 146 and 6th street in Kemah, Texas. The schooner is berthed on "A" dock which runs along the parking lot on the south end of the Kemah Boardwalk Marina.
Entrance to the boat is via a gate located at the S.W. corner of the marina. The boat is in slip A29, the 4th slip from the gate. (200’ from the gas pumps at the Kemah Food Mart).
What to Bring
You might want to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a camera. You can also bring drinks and snacks on board. Please bring at least 2 bottles of water for yourself.
Need to brush up on your Pirate Talk? Here’s an on-line course!
