Indy Farm Camp Out 2012 (4th Annual)

Join the Indy group at Tim’s 50 acre Greencastle, Indiana paradise! Plenty of things to do, including:
FISHING (bring poles/bait),
CAMPING (bring tent, air mattress, flashlight, sleeping bag, pillow, and your own mess kit),
BONFIRES (bring lawn chair, singing voice, flashlight, roasting stick, bug spray),
YARD GAMES (cornhole, ladder ball, lawn darts),
ZIPLINE across the lake (bring old clothes in case you decide to go swimming - unexpectedly),
HIKING – on and off trails - (bring old shoes in case they get muddy),
ROW BOAT (gents – show the ladies your rowing skills, we like that!),
SHOOTING (Tim will supervise folks who want to shoot his assault rifle at assigned times),
PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST (bring your pumpkin and carving supplies.)
GROUP ROSARY – Join in saying the rosary together. This is one of the highlights of the weekend!
FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP – Spend time getting to know more CMers, make some new friends!
Come for as much or as little of the weekend as you wish, join us to relax and enjoy the beautiful fall colors, get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is a camping weekend, no matter what the weather, so please come prepared to spend your days and nights outdoors.
$35 ACTIVITY FEE - This year, we’re renting a porta-potty, a double hand wash station, and will have a dish washing station outside as well - everyone will supply and wash their own dishes. Your Activity Fee goes towards those rentals, ammunition, misc supplies and expenses – it takes a lot to put on a weekend like this. It also includes morning coffee as well as the 5 Main Meals: Fri dinner, Sat b’fast and dinner and Sun b’fast and 3pm farewell meal (food only.) Each camper supplies their own camping gear, lunches, snacks and drinks for their stay.
DAY VISITORS - Fill out a registration form and submit $5 per meal you’ll be sharing with us, as well as a $10 activity fee for supplies and expenses. Bring your own lawn chair, drinks, snacks, and lunches. Consult the CAMPERS CHECKLIST for anything else you may want to bring for your visit.
MASS: We’re planning to attend as a group – 5pm Sat at St. Paul the Apostle, Greencastle (25 min drive from farm.)
REMEMBER: This is a CAMP OUT - we plan to keep it as informal as possible. We’ll dine on simple, basic foods and stay out of the house / kitchen as much as possible.
FRIDAY – arrivals anytime after 2. We’ll have a crock pot of sloppy joes available all evening. Visit with folks as they arrive, enjoy some s’mores, and get ready for some singing around the campfire. Plenty of folks to help you pitch your tent and set up camp. Have those flashlights handy in your car, esp if you arrive after dark.
SATURDAY – Fish in the early hours if you’d like. Enjoy some quiet time with nature as the world around you awakens. Go on a nature hike, take a boat ride, brave the zip line, carve your pumpkin for the contest, challenge someone to a game of corn hole, ladderball or lawn darts. If you’re into photography, bring your camera – there are gorgeous photo opportunities all weekend long. Try your hand at target practice. Bring your favorite book or craft to work on. Attend mass together in Greencastle. End the day with a nice pasta dinner, then a bonfire - check out the stars. Bring your musical instrument if you play one – share those talents. If you have favorite songs you’d like to hear, get those requests in early so our musicians can learn them ahead of time.
SUNDAY – Have a cup of coffee while the birds chirp their morning greetings. Enjoy a leisurely Sunday morning breakfast. Choose whatever activity you’d like to try next, or repeat some of your favorites again. Gather a group to play a game. Join in our farewell meal of pulled port sandwiches at 3pm, but depart as your own schedule dictates – that’s the beauty of this event – nothing is set in stone. Feel free to stay longer.

Feel free to spread the word among your friends and family – we’d love a big turnout! Visitors/Guests are welcome – just make sure everyone submits a registration form and applicable fees.
Below, and linked to the event website (Tracy is graciously letting us use) are three forms: a CAMPERS CHECKLIST, an INFORMATION SHEET, and a detailed REGISTRATION FORM. Be sure to get everything answered and ready well ahead of the weekend, as once we're out at the farm, cell reception is spotty at best.

Print out the Campers Checklist and Information sheet - reference it as you are planning/packing. Print the Registration Form to submit with payment to reserve your spot. EVERY attendee needs to sign the registration form/liability release.
CAMPER’S CHECKLIST – You are responsible for bringing these items:

1. Lunches, snacks and all drinks (except morning coffee) for the duration of their stay. Please cover any and all special dietary needs as well - gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. We're providing BASIC camp-style food for the 5 meals included in the activity fee - but not drinks or desserts. Weather permitting, we’ll have a campfire and grill available for cooking your campfire meals, hot dogs, etc. SHOW US YOUR SKILLS – get creative! Feel free to bring your own camp stove.
2. Mess kit - including plate, bowl, utensils, cup, and napkins for ALL meals. (Dish washing station will be available, so bring a mesh laundry bag to hang your dishes to dry between meals, or a drying towel.) If you choose to bring paper goods - be sure to bring enough for all meals for the duration of your stay.
3. Camping gear – including tent, ground cloth, air mattress/warm bedding, folding chair or blanket to sit on (label and only use your own chair for campfires and meals pls), flashlight and spare batteries, rain poncho, umbrella, cooler, bug spray, sun block, your own toiletries / towels, plenty of warm clothing, and a pair of spare shoes. Please plan for ALL types of weather. Bring roasting sticks, mini folding tables, extra camping gear (tents, sleeping bags) and air pumps if you have them. You can sleep in your car if desired.
4. A pumpkin and carving supplies for the contest. (optional, but fun!)
5. Paper and pen for various activities.
6. Camera – record some memories.
7. Ear Plugs (if you plan to share a tent. and while you are in line for shooting - it gets loud.)
8. Rosary – we will have a group rosary during the weekend. OPTIONAL: Bring bible, devotional reading, etc.
9. Mass clothes – nothing fancy needed. We’re hoping everyone will attend Sat night mass together as a group. There is something
special about worshipping together.
10. Musical Instrument or songbooks – if you play one, please share your talents with us. We’re planning a sing-a-long around the

2012 FARM CAMP OUT INFORMATION SHEET
ACTIVITY FEE: $35 per person, includes 5 meals: Fri dinner, Sat b’fast and dinner, Sun b’fast and 3pm final meal, plus coffee on Sat/Sun mornings. (You can join us for some or all of these meals, however, the fee will not be adjusted if you miss one or more.) Also the fee helps offset equipment rentals, misc supplies and expenses, etc. It all adds up!
THE ACTIVITY FEE IS NEW THIS YEAR – we’ve done what we can to keep it very reasonable. The provided meals will be simple foods: pulled pork sandwiches, salads and dressings, pasta and rolls, hot dogs, continental breakfasts, etc. This way if anyone cancels – there will still be basic foods available to feed attendees without worrying about vital pitch-in items not arriving. You provide your own drinks, snacks, desserts and lunches.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a CAMP OUT - ‘roughing’ it should be expected. Do NOT plan on hot showers or available electricity (do not bring plug in appliances or heaters.) Campers are encouraged to embrace the whole outdoors experience, no matter what the weather, so come prepared. The house and kitchen are basically off limits to anyone but the planning committee and their helpers for each meal. Pitching in is expected of everyone – gathering firewood, helping at either end of the zip line, set up and clean up of meals and activities, set up and tear down of supplies, etc.
AGAIN, everyone should arrange for their own camping gear and supplies, and provide their own lunches, drinks and snacks for their entire visit to the farm. Use the comments sections on the Event Pages if you have extra gear to loan out, or need to borrow something, or have extra room in your tent. Work together with other attendees listed on the Event Pages (on CM and CAMA INDY on FB) for lunches or supplies if you wish – see how creative you can be. IF you absolutely cannot stand the thought of camping – look into nearby hotels in Cloverdale if you want to be a DAY VISITOR (provide your own rides to and from the farm and hotels), or perhaps think about catching us at another more comfortable outing.
Each guest MUST complete a registration form/liability release.

Had a great hayride last night down to Clinton Falls. Went over the "haunted" Edna Collins covered bridge. Enjoyed a terrific dinner then down to the campfire for pumpkin carving contest results and lively conversation and games. Didn't get to bed until after 2 am for some! Hope everyone is having a fun time!!

Having a great time with a great group of people! Everyone down at the campfire cooking. Dutch over peach cobbler, hobo stew, baked beans over an open fire. Smells terrific! Had a rosary service at noon, recited prayers and sang hymns. Going to 5 pm Mass as a group, then back for dinner and possible a hay ride. Weather might become a factor later on but we're praying it misses us.
