Fr. Jacob Bertrand was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelors in Philosophy, at which time he entered seminary to prepare and discern the possibility of being called to be a Catholic priest. He spent four years praying and studying for the priesthood in Rome, and he graduated there with another general degree in Theology and a Masters in Spiritual Theology. Ordained to the priesthood on June 11th 2010 for the Diocese of San Diego, he now serves as pastor of Santa Sophia Parish in Spring Valley.

Originally from Connecticut, Christa Lopiccolo received her B.A. in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, her M.A. in Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville and is currently working on a masters in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.  With her education, she has sought to explain the beauty and richness of the Churchs teachings through her varied work experience from teaching in a Catholic high school and a Catholic college, to working with at-risk teenage girls at a therapeutic ranch program in Wyoming.  Christa served as the Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry for the Archdiocese of Washington before accepting her current position as the Executive Director for the Department of Life Issues.  For the past 6 years, Christa has sought with the help of the many dedicated individuals in the pro-life movement to, once again, share the beauty of the Catholic faith on some of the most challenging issues in our culture.

Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. is the founder and President of the Ruth Institute. Our Sunday Visitor, one of the largest English-language Catholic publications in the world, selected Dr. Morse as one of the nine top Catholics of the Year in 2013. Dr. Morse brings a unique voice to discussions of love, marriage, sexuality and the family. A committed career woman before having children, she earned a doctorate in economics, and spent fifteen years teaching at Yale University and George Mason University. In 1991, she and her husband adopted a two year old Romanian boy, and gave birth to a baby girl. She left her full-time university teaching post in 1996 to move with her family to California. She was a Research Fellow at Stanford Universitys Hoover Institution, and at the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty. Recently, she was a campaign spokeswoman for Proposition 8. In the summer of 2008, Dr. Morse founded the Ruth Institute, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to helping the victims of the Sexual Revolution find hope and healing.

Dr Morse is the author of Love and Economics: It Takes a Family to Raise a Village (2001), Smart Sex: Finding Lifelong Love in a Hook-up World (2005) and in 2013, with Betsy Kerekes, 101 Tips for a Happier Marriage: Simple Ways for Couples to Grow Closer to God and One Another.
