Event DetailsThe biggest Irish festival in the nation, Milwaukee Irish Fest truly is a taste of Ireland featuring music, dance, song, sports, genealogy, poetry, and culture. There are three main stages of music, several smaller stages, and numerous booths featuring Irish culture. Because of the event's size, IrishFest traditioanlly draws the top bands on the circuit, including old legends like Tommy Makem, and rising stars like Gaelic Storm and Leahy.
The event, right on the shores of Lake Michigan itself runs from Thursday to Sunday, and CMers are organizing a get-together for the Sunday finale. The day begins with 11 AM Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Dolan, and there is free entry for all who come to Mass with canned food for the poor. The day runs until close to midnight, with a "closing", where all the bands gather together on the same stage for a grand farewell.
Megan-21150 is helping put a group together for Sunday's festivities. If you are local and able to help her organize, please contact her on CM.
The recommended hotel is:
Radisson Hotel Milwaukee West
2303 North Mayfair Road
Wauwatosa Wisconsin 53226 (Wauwatosa is right next to Milwaukee and in easy distance of the festival grounds)
Reservations: (800) 333-3333
Other options for Saturday in Milwaukee, include a tour of Miller Brewery and a trip to Milwaukee's nationally recognized city zoo. And though the "official" CM outing to Irishfest is Sunday, the festival goes on throughout the weekend. Please contact Meg regarding your preference, if you will be in town on Saturday afternoon.
For those that wish to come, but prefer to attend the Tridentine Mass, the city of Milwaukee has an approved indult at 11, at a nice neighborhood parish, within fairly easy driving distance of the festival, at:
St. Mary's Help of Christians
1210 South 61st Street
West Allis WI 53214 (West Allis is essentially a part of Milwaukee).
This event has 11 guests. more »

Meg & Tracy:
Rooming with you would be great. Spliting the cost 3 ways works well with my budget. I will only be there on Saturday night because I do have to work at 8:ooam EST on Monday. Do you think we need to have a Pink Party Saturday night.
I guess you could bring the left over adult beverages for the tail gate party. As long as we don't get pulled over on the way we should be ok....LOL

What's the latest:
Well I just wanted to know what the plan is for the weekend. I will probably be coming in Saturday morning because I have to work until 4:00pm on Friday. Or I could just drive straight from work and I guess sleep in my car... . Is everyone going to do the shopping, zoo and ball game? For me the ball game is what sounds like fun. And about this tail gate party can we have water and soft drinks for those of us who don't drink alcohol very often. Is anyone going to be at the festival on Saturday morning or mid-day? Just wanted to get an idea of what to prepare for. Just let me know.
