Was not sure where to post this.....
When my grandmother was not well(or after she was unable to drive) she would sometimes watch a Mass on television.
How does anyone else feel about watching Mass on TV? It is one thing if you are elderly and perhaps aren't as mobile as you used to be. I know that when my Dad was in the hospital on and off, he would watch Mass in his room on a closed circuit channel. I know that it brought him comfort.
But if you are younger (but are ill one weekend) does watching Mass on TV fulfill obligation?(I would think not.) And what about receiving Communion? If a loved one/friend was bringing you Communion later, perhaps that would suffice....but if not, what then?
I would think that unless you could receive Communion at some point, watching Mass on TV does not take the place of attending Mass in person.
Then, I wonder, why have Mass on TV?
