The Conventual Franciscan Friars of Marytown - The National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Libertyville, IL are holding six nights of talks by leading Catholic thinkers in the public sphere, to honor the "Fortnight for Religious Freedom" the Catholic bishops have called for.
For two weeks, June 21st through July 3rd, the Conventual Franciscan Friars will be holding prayer services each night beginning at 6:30 PM in the Chapel for the preservation of religious freedom in our country. On six nights, there will be Guest Speakers:
Thursday, June 21 at 7:00 pm--Fr. Edward T. Oakes, SJ, Author and Professor at University of St. Mary of the Lake Seminary
Friday, June 22 at 7:00 pm--Robert Gilligan, Executive Director, Catholic Conference of Illinois
Monday, June 25 at 7:00 pm--Very Rev. Patrick Greenough, OFM CONV, National Director of the MI and Minister Provincial , St. Bonaventure Province
Tuesday, June 26 at 7:00 pm--Michael Sullivan, Member, Thomas Moore Legal Society
Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 pm--Brian Burch, President, CatholicVote.org
Monday, July 2 at 7:00 pm--Bonnie Quirke, Executive Director, Lake County Right to Life
The Fortnight for Freedom at Marytown concludes with a special mass on Independence Day, July 4th at 9:00 am.
All events for A Fortnight of Freedom are free of charge and do not require registration.
