I overworked my feet and legs yesterday. I got home at 11:00 pm from working on a major fundraiser. The floors are concrete. Today will be VERY busy preparing for the major event. Thousands of people come for Oktoberfest.

My team and I can raise $10,000 just from the auctions. Both a LIVE and a silent. I have done this for over 10 years. I know what is in store for me. I have never hurt like this on the 1st day of set up.

I am very concerned.

Please pray for my overall health, especially my feet and legs today. Also, that our auctions raise as much as they did last year.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for me, whether you posted or not!!

My foot was in considerable pain that morning. I had overworked my feet and legs the previous day. I was on my feet, for the most part of 18 hours on concrete floors. I knew what was ahead of me...2 more days of 18 hour days!

GOOD NEWS!!

I found another pair of Spenco Replacement Cross-trainer Insoles. They have excellent arch support. Thirty minutes of wearing them, my foot quit hurting!! My foot had never hurt in that manner before.

Even though MANY things happened to make it very hard for me to do my job, the unfortunate situations kept becoming neutral to positive.

We did not raise $10,000 for the auctions. However, we did as much as we did last year! We can come about $200 above last year if everyone picks up their items! 8 people still need to pick up their items.

The LIVE auction did $37 less than last year. BUT, our Auctioneer this year has a debilitating disease such as Parkinson's. He was only able to get to 30 items. Last year, the very seasoned auctioneer did 60 items. So, that made this year's LIVE auction more successful than last year!!

The SILENT auction so far, has done $95 less than last year. With 8 people still to pick up, the auction will do better than last year. ADD TO THAT, we only had 50% of the items that we had last year!!

There were 189 bidders this year for the silent auction.. There were 240ish the 2 previous years.

Praying for your request. SAS shoes are also great - they have extra room for any swelling. Also getting orthotics helps because they the inserts are made from a mold pattern of your feet. They take awhile to adjust to...can only wear them for an hour or two initially and then work up to a day. The doctor (specialist in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle) makes slight adjustments if required after a month or two. These inserts can be adjusted anytime to your particular need and or you can redo a molding section after a few years.

I have not found SAS shoes to be a good shoe. I have average width feet. Some claim that they are more narrow than average. I always look for shoes with extra room. I did not find SAS to be roomy. They also did not have any arch support. They are about $100 too. I would rather wear Clarks for that price. (Have not found any athletic shoes in Clarks.)

Once upon a time, I had custom made orthotics. You are right...the Dr does do a mold of the foot. The orthotic is in the shape of the mold. It did not help. The Podiatrist did nothing to adjust.

Spenco Replacement Insoles are wonderful. I have worn them since 1991. I buy a new pair every year. They are guaranteed. I have only had to return 1 pr in the past 22 years.

This is what I wear. www.spenco.com

The pr that I was wearing that Thursday was a bit over a year old.
