Since the question asked by this thread is: "So what will Obama do now?"
Well here is one of the answers. In speaking to some of his Hollywood supporters he brushed aside his poor debate performance by stating that he can't be expected to be constantly on his game every night.
Taken by itself, with no context, a true statement that applies to all of us. But throw a little context around it and it is another illustration of his total arrogance.
The statement presupposes that he is usually on his game. Reality demonstrates that that is just not true. His accomplishments are few and far between.
A mark of his failure is the fact that although he will still be supported by most African-Americans, his support among them is slipping. African-American religious leaders are greatly disturbed by his stance on so called same sex marriage and have spoken out against the stance in their pulpits.
A likely result is that although he will still garner most of the African-American votes, a large segment of that voting block may not even vote. And in this race he needs every one of those potential voters to vote for him as well corralling the same percentage as last time of misguided Catholic voters, and independents.
Even the polls that show him ahead show that his suport among indepoendents has seriously eroded with a large majority of those votes no solidly in the Romney camp. Now anything can happen before Nov. But the indications now are that if the vote were held today, he would lose.
