Part I of What Can We Do to Get Romney/Ryan reelected is locking out due to so many EXCELLENT ideas! I have been requested to open Part II of this thread, and so here it is. (Being as computer illiterate as I am, I'm not sure how to provide a link to Part I, but I believe someone can provide that in the next post here.)

Our goal is to come up with continuing suggestions, ideas, constructive and productive brainstorming as to what we can do in the remaining 4 weeks to get Romney and Ryan elected this November! We welcome all positive and productive suggestions that address this question! And, I believe that there may be some postings that will appear here looking for volunteers to implement these ideas.

Special thanks to all who have been so helpful in posting in Part I of this thread - please keep posting your excellent suggestions!

I did not do this, but I wanted to share what I saw on the way home from work today. I've been a bit nervous, not seeing a lot of signage for Romney/Ryan around my travel route. I take a highway (I-90) to/from work each day, and on the way home there was a huge tracker trailer parked on the side, on a company's property, set at such an angle as to allow everyone driving west-bound to view their message:

(Imagine a sign painted LARGE enough to cover the entire side of a tracker trailer)

We built our family business without government assistance.

Vote: Romney/Ryan

Woot! Woot! clap clap clap

Absolutely, Tom. And, in case you don't know there are rosary rallies (for pro-life) around the country this Saturday, Oct. 13 - most of them at Noon, I think. I will be attending the one in downtown Chicago at Noon in Daley Plaza. Perhaps, there might be one in Madison.

And, as a CM community, we pray on Thursday nights for Romney/Ryan as a virtual prayer group (see my thread in the Prayers forum). This week will be praying earlier (due to VP debate) at 7PM CST. You're very welcome to join us! (And, I have a novena to St. Thomas More and Litany to him posted in that thread.)

I understand this is just political rhetoric, but I hope people don't literally believe that. How many businesses did not benefit from the government? How many were protected from theft by the police? How many had customers come to them or suppliers deliver to them on public roads? How many hired employees who learned to read and write in public schools?

All business, all organizatons - profit and non-profit, all individuals exist in society and government is a big part of society. Even the most strident libertarians must admit that pretty much every business in America has benefited from government in some form. (The libertarians would argue that those businesses would have been better off without government and its costs, but they cannot deny that in our current system - the last few hundred years - government is so part of society that everyone gets both benefits and costs.)

Everything you have just described were never intended to be functions of the federal government, but rather the states. That's the argument here - the gross overreach of the federal government at the expense of the sovereignty of the individual states.

The next Stand Up for Religious Freedom rally will take place on Saturday, October 20 at noon local time. There's five to be held in Illinois. thumbsup And the website states signs will be provided (Stand up for Religious Freedom, and Stop the HHS mandate).

What if each of us reading this could attend a rally, if they're near us........and what if each of us then posted a sign in our yard??

Take a look everyone at the website standupforreligiousfreedom.com for rally locations possibly near you.
