Do you still dress up for Halloween? I don't usually dress up at work, but the dynamic has changed to a lot more younger people and we have decided to. I usually dress up and go out the weekend before/night with friends. The office costume idea is being part of the Spice Girls faint and no ideas for parties/out with friends.

Yup! As a matter of fact, this year I'm participating in my 1st group costume! I'm the nerdy secretary from the Ghostbusters while my BIL & one nephew are Ghostbusters and the youngest nephew is the StayPuff Marshmallow Man. It's fun!

Yes, I usually dress up. I work with kids so dressing up at work is always suggested. Last year I was an elephant. Not sure what I will be this year.

I work with international students, and we are encouraged to dress up for the welcome party for new students that always happens around the end of October. It's an American cultural experience for them. There is a costume contest for students and faculty, but so many good costumes are culturally bound and totally lost on my students... and so many others commercially available look more like something for Porn in Public Day than Halloween in the workplace. Bleck.

So far I am usually either the Statue of Liberty (very well recognized internationally) or a playing card Queen of Hearts. I have a big poofy dress left over from my treintanera that I might be able to make into a Scarlett O'Hara costume someday, but since it's a bit less work I am thinking of making some Angry Birds masks and getting my cubicle-mates to do a group costume this year. I was considering getting a blue tuxedo jacket and sunglasses and coming as Psy from the very popular Korean "Gangnam Style" music video, but I'd have to find time to learn the dance and it probably would not be re-useable like I like my work-appropriate costumes to be.

I like the Angry Bird idea! That sounds like a fun group costume and it's great because Angry Bird t-shirts are sold everywhere and it would be easy to make some props..

It is definitely hard to find costumes that are fun and flattering and for lack of a better term not sexy. I usually have to modify any costume I buy with leggings/tights, so I'm trying to get creative and make a costume this year.

Costumes are always fun! I have not worn one for halloween in a long while though. We will see about this year! :)

I haven't dressed up in a while but this year I was invited to two Halloween costume parties. biggrin I couldn't think of anything for a while but I settled on being a fairy. I got a nice dress from good will, fabric for wings and I'll hopefully pull off doing some creative make-up to finish it off. A great idea is to go as the four seasons with a group of friends. I tried to get my brother and two friends to do it with me but they bailed. rolling eyes

I haven't dressed up in a long time... but this year, I have an awesome costume! A friend and I are going to tack a giant picture of a dime to our shirts and go as a "paradigm." I'm so excited! :)
