For the playoffs, each game will count for 5 pts. So, this is a good way of catching up in the standings down the stretch. However, in order to make the regular season performance relevant, I want to add this rule.
All players will be eligible for the Wild Card Weekend, the first round of playoff games. However, after the results of Wild Card Weekend, only the top 5 players will advance to the next round of the playoffs, the Divisional Playoff Weekend. After the results of the Divisional Playoff Weekend are in, only the top 4 players will advance to the next round of the playoffs, Championship Game Sunday. Finally, after the results of Championship Game Sunday are in, the finalists, the top two players in the standings, will advance to the Salvation Bowl which will be the final pick of the year-the Super Bowl.
So, make sure you stay close enough in the standings to keep advancing in the playoffs.
Okay...another one of my NFL stories. We were playing the Pittsburg Steelers in the Cotton Bowl...and one of my brothers was there with me in the end zone. NFL balls have always been expensive....and therefore nice to get "for free" (Back then...there were no endzone nets and so the footballs floated freely through and into the crowd...where there would sometimes be a "scuffle" to get one! However on this particular occasion...and errant throw landed out of bounds and fairly close to the railing at about the 10 yard line. The ball sat there...for at least a minute.
No one from the Dallas bench ran over to retrieve it. So one fellow leaped the railing and landed on his feet on the sidelines (fans were/are not permitted to get on the field of play) Many fans including my brother and myself viewed this spectacle as the would-be "thief" climbed back over the railing (having to leap up to catch the bottom rail) By now..the many fans viewing this were cheering the guy on! He quickly ran up the steps of the Cotton Bowl....(having to look down the whole way because the steps are so close together) and into the waiting arms of one of Dallas' finest! Now everyone laughed! He escorted him out but came back with the ball...and threw a perfect pass to one of the bench crew~
