Why does CM have an ad with Jesus riding a dinosaur?

Together, they are selling T-shirts for $6.

MY understanding of it is that as part of the web hosting or whatever, CM agrees to be a portal for advertising that is that company's decision so that is why we get all kinds of seemingly incongruous pop up ads on here. They have no say/control over it.

They could have a say in it if they screen who they allow to advertise. Also, if they give potential advertisers strict guidelines for advertising.

It's through Google, and yes, we actually have fairly strict guidelines, but advertisers are not always honest or accurate with following those guidelines. Just drop a help ticket with web address of the ad (yes, you may have to click on it to get that if it's a flash ad =/ ) and any pertinent information. Then we can go in and manually decline that advertiser.

I don't like going to those kind of sites to get the URL address due to potential viruses.

The World of Warcraft game is still being advertised on CM. I have complained about it several times. It seems to have been taken down...then a month later; it is back up.

There is something more that can be done. Create a contract with them that if they violate the CM's advertising guidelines, 3X, that they will be barred from advertising on CM. Better than that, put in the contract, that EVERY AD MUST BE APPROVED BY CM.

CM can do its own advertising on the website. Create a job market for web advertising salespeople.

CM puts up ads from companies where they approve the ad that goes on CM. This way, CM has the LAST say because CM would only put ads on the website that did not mock Christianity or our Catholic beliefs, including advertising for other dating websites showing men and women wearing hardly any clothes.

((If I lived in the Pittsburgh area, I would be knocking on your doors. I love Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas!! I also have experience in web advertising.))

We do run ads for other Catholic companies that contact us directly, but there is just a limited market for that. It's just not feasible for us to do all of the necessary legwork for this right now.

As to the ads that you had complained about - I've checked into it, and it appears some individual ads were being blocked instead of the whole domain (IE, World of Warcraft). I'll update our management practices which should help with the recurring ads. However, it's important to note that these are not obscene ads by any stretch of the imagination. If there were regular adverts for pornography or the like, it would be an entirely different situation.

Hello Nathan, Thank you for responding again!

Why does it have to be a Catholic company? There are MANY businesses that have a Catholic target audience.

The World of Warcraft is obscenity against Christianity. It is evil.

It's my understanding that the ads don't have anything to do with CM.

Many people get offended by some of the ads that appear or they take it personally - but the thing to do is just ignore them.

If they are on CM, then CM allows them...that is having something to do with CM.
