Hello All, If I had a million dollars, would this attract suitable women or the wrong sort, ( eg. Gold diggers!) if I had all the wealth in the world, would another be attracted just because of this? To have what they don't, material wealth? If I had the True Faith and God which has an infinite ( unlimited) immortal ( forever) value, Why is it so hard to attract? Do we hide it? Why is this? Are people only thinking materially? Have people actually thought of the fact, that by believing in God,( being baptized) having the True Faith, we become Real Children of God. Jesus Christ is a King, we then, being brothers and sisters of Christ We are Heavenly Royalty, Real princes and princesses. ( Yes, that is right!) As Heavenly Royalty, why is it that we often seek corruptible non- lasting things? Is it that we all really seek and value Love= God ,and the happily everafter in Heaven? Why then do we value what we do? What is your treasure? If you had the a choice between a million dollars and God ( heaven) what would you choose? God bless you all. Jake

Hi Jacob! I'd choose God. This might not always have been the case as I think us women prefer security above all, hence the attraction to someone who can look after our material needs, but having grown in my faith I now realise the greatest treasure is our Lord. Man can have all the money in the world but that can be taken away in a flash. True happiness ( which I believe is the aim of us all) can only lie in God. Money is the devil's way of convincing us we can do things on our own but that's just a lie.

To both posts above: I disagree, it is not true that "women want security above all else", there are many of us out there that like to stand on our own two feet and marriage would be sharing the path with someone else, not depending on that person. A million dollars would be great but that is indifferent when you're with someone sincere.

And how to attract people? Forgive my honesty, but start by changing your profile pic ;)

Hey Jacob,

My answer to the question would be God of course. Money is an ever dwindling commodity. Aristotle says the same and he knew that thousands of years ago. Flocks and herd reproduce but not money--unless you're a usurer or work at one of the casinos on Wall St. Even then, money has to constantly be replenished by our efforts.

To answer your other question, we are a nation of empiricists and many of us (tragically) forget that we have a soul. We get excited about what money can do for us. We want life to be easier and more convenient but that (to a greater or lesser degree) is like shoveling excrement up a hill. Life is life, we don't want life to be hard or inconvienent but it can be no matter how hard we try. Until acknowledge that fact, the fact that we are children of God is going to be a grim jest. Most of the world's religions teach this as a matter of basic truth in one form or another. Still we turn away and try to say that we know what's better for us than what God say (aka pride)

I think there will always be people in the world who are fascinated by the things and power money can give them therefore choosing a partner who is financially secure is going to be a priority for them. It's unfortunate for people who have this type of mindset because they will never be truly fullfilled in life. Money can only bring a limited amount of happiness...

Oh, and I'd choose God. Everytime... smile

Pardon the intrusion from someone from the older set, but I wanted to say, "Welcome, Sasha". As a newer member of CM, you've discovered the forums early. If you haven't browsed through them already, you'll find a variety of topics. We hope you will join in the other rooms as well as this one.

Bien venidos, Senorita. biggrin
