I agree, Sharon. I am raising my 15 year old great-nephew and he considers anyone over 20 old. laughing

Glad you're not giving up, Cindy. I am willing to settle for a platonic relationship, if not an amorous one. It does get very lonely.

Thanks, Bob. Up until recently, my focus was entirely on working. I will look into social events for people my age in my area. I've always enjoyed the company of men (probably because I grew with 4 older brothers). I miss the male point of view.

You're welcome. I've also worked too much previously. A fellow Programmer, age 66, and I are going to bd's Mongolian Grill tonite where we'll probably be the oldest there. This will be our 4th time there in the last 2 weeks. We almost got a 41-yo ladyfriend to join us tonite. She was at Dinner w/ us last Friday and at a Super Bowl Party.

But before the Dinner tonite, I need to go run in sunny 40s-degree temps. Later, I need to check w/ 2 local Christian Singles Groups on 3 upcoming Events..check the Facebook Groups "Lexington Christian Singles in Service" & "Southland Singles N Christ".

Nilda,

I grew up near a very small town (population approximately 450) in eastern Washington state.

There were two Catholic couples, both with large families. Both families knew each other for many years since all of the kids had gone to the same schools... and because that's just the way it is in a small town. One lost his wife to cancer and the other lost her husband to another illness when they were in their late 50's, each after over 30 years of marriage. After some time, they started dating each other and were married in their early 60s. They have now been married to their new spouse for about 30 years, as they are new in their early 90s. They are neighbors of my parents and when I home to see my parents over Christmas, I saw this couple out for a walk around the town. They have a great life together and seem very young for being in their 90s. I sure that when they each lost their respective spouses in their late 50s, they would have found it hard to imagine that they would marry again and have a second marriage as long as their first.

Don't give up!

I was just recently told why are you doing this? Meaning -- why do you bother at your age about finding a man? It's as though reaching the age of 60 is the legal age limit, and STOP participating in the game we call life. Also, I was recently reminded by a PA at a local clinic of having at least two more decades of life. Up until that point in time, I had never given it a second thought. Well, I left feeling worse than I did coming in.

I would like to know if others my age have experienced this as well.

I know I'm super far from being 60+, but I just wanted to say that age should never hold anyone back from finding true love! You are never too old to date. wink

Hi Everyone!

What wonderful replies of support to Nilda (Patricia, Jayne, Joyce, Chelle, Ray and John). Loved Ed's story! Bless you all.

Too old? Goodness, if it wasn't for my wonderful 31 year old daughter encouraging me to join this site, I probably never would have done so! As everyone has clearly stated, we are NEVER TOO OLD FOR LOVE! I look so forward to meeting that special person and sharing the rest of my life with him, until God calls me home. Sharing your faith and a good life together would be the icing on the cake!

I too know of a wonderful lady, who remarried at 80, after she and her current husband lost both their spouses. They are still happily married today and are both well into their 90's.

Yeah for love and all its possibilities AT ANY AGE!!

definitely not, do what your heart desires other peoples opinions are immaterial. There is no age limit for love. ive seen people in their 90's holding hands and looking into each others eyes.
