The pill is the absolute worst thing for PCOS

Please consult a napro doctor to actually fix the problem rather than mask the symptoms. The pill is a group 1 carcinogen. It. is. pure. poison. The synthetic hormones are getting into the water streams and causing problems for women that aren't even on the pill, and also harming the fish.

I've been charting for my health for 11 years. Napro doc diagnosed from the charts PCOS and another minor condition. Treated and fixed! Years later, discovered low progesterone from charting (could have miscarried if I was trying to conceive). Fixed with a natural progesterone. This past year, diagnosed polyps and had surgery to fix that. ALL from charting.

Please, for the love of all things holy , please-- Go to and get a napro NFP only doc. Many MANY docs on there that say how poisonous the pill is, will not prescribe it.

My daughter was diagnosed with PCOS. She was offered the choice to use hormonal BC, but opted instead for metformin, which worked.

I don't know what list you are talking about. But the so-called "protection" you are talking about is actually the lessened cancer instances when women get pregnant. Because the pill "fakes" a pregnancy, this is the similar response.

The list of the group 1 carcinogens which you referred to. Here it is taken from:

OK, that was not how the list looked in the preview. It was actually a nice ordered list.

Hi Vivienne,

PILL is used to treat PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome, very common condition, increasing drastically in teenage girls because of obesity, so 20 years from now, it will be even more common.
INSULIN plays a role in ovary and affects the proportion of testosterone/estrogen made in ovary.
You can put PCOS, insulin and OCP http://www.PUBMED.COM and you will find the real papers with statistics and so on.
This is one of the reasons you were reading about INSULIN.

Metformin is a drug that makes body more sensitive to its own INSULIN and affects liver handling of sugar, but it also affects sensitivity of ovary to the insulin and changes proportion of testosterone and estrogens made in the ovary....

So, if a girl is obese with high insulin, I start Metformin first...many will start ovulating, periods get better, hair gets less and acne can get better.

It was used in Europe for centuries. It comes from a plant called French Lilac. It is used for treatment of prediabetes, diabetes and PCOS.
BUT, it is a chemical pill now with its own chemical formula.
