A place to learn, mingle, and share

This room is for general discussion that doesn't specifically fit into one of the other CatholicMatch rooms. Topics should not be overly serious as this is to be more of a "cafe setting."

Saint Peter's Square was created so that more people could be in the presence of the Pope and was named after Saint Peter, one of Jesus's apostles.

Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri. Allow at least two days for this escape. The employees, the atmosphere, live music shows (included), skilled craftsmen demonstrating their art, the variety of things to learn, observe and do...More than anything though, I always leave there with a warm heart and a bigger smile.

At Christmas, you think you have gone back in time. Christ's name is proudly used and Christmas greetings come from all the employees. Many are retired and now work here and it is because they love being a part of Silver Dollar. The shows, costumes, carolers and lights are outstanding.

The owners of Silver Dollar City are pro-life and have publicly stated so. This is a great destination but, an absolute must during the Christmas Season. http://www.silverdollarcity.com

America's Sandbar. I avoid it at all costs during the heat of the summer, but I have my grandkids in West Palm Beach who I want to see. If it wasn't for them, I'd only go there if forced to at gunpoint.

What things do you most enjoy in Vegas and what time of year seems best?
Apr 18th 2013 new

I'll be heading to CM Italy and coming home via Dublin Ireland! We will be going to Assissi, Padua (bucket list destination as St Anthony is my favorite saint) and Cascia, as well as spending time at a Villa in Tuscany.

The best part is being with my sister, and relaxing by her pool, and talking and laughing, and treating ourselves to girl time. The best time to go depends on your weather tolerance. It's really hot in the summer, but the dry heat makes it bearable to get to/from the car. Hopefully we will head to the mountains this time but it will depend on the temp. Too hot and you cant really enjoy the outdoors, too cold and there is snow and hazardous driving. it is really interesting to see the different hotel/casinos on the strip. Like the Paris, the Bellagio, the Venetian, and how they pretty successfully copy the architecture. There is also a conservatory in one of the hotels that changes the floral display quite nicely. Certain Shows are quite fascinating too -- like the cirque - themed ones, or there is just the music shows. Have only been a couple times so can't comment too much more.
