Saint Peter's Square was created so that more people could be in the presence of the Pope and was named after Saint Peter, one of Jesus's apostles.

I'll also have a short trip to Cincy to take part in a pro-life walk and meet up with other CMers, like Dawn! It's less than a month away, but not too late to join us, everybody! I hear ice cream and a beautiful cathedral are part of the plan. How can you go wrong with all of THAT?!
I'm headed to Vegas in a few months. I've never been, but am thrilled to meet up again with a couple of gals whom I got to meet on the CM Ireland trip two years ago. They've been to Vegas before, but I'll be a newbie. We're not the big gamblers, but we hope to take some day trips to the Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam/Red Rock, take in some shows, sit by the pool, etc.
Any suggestions to add to our list, by the way? I've always been lucky to get some great advice before making trips!
Head to the Old downtown of Las Vegas and see the Fremont Street Experience; while there gamble at Binion's and the Golden Nugget.... slots are much looser downtown than on the strip... Craps games at Binions have good odds. Also a well kept secret is the steakhouse on the eight floor.
..and the $1 Margaritas at Mike's Casino while listening to 'Elvis".
The great American road trip season started for me with what one person already mentioned a visit to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO to take in Outlaw Run (Coaster fanatic here) and write about it on my blog: http://theadventuresoflud.blogspot.com. Last weekend the weekend of the 3rd through 5th I went to Lafayette, LA and Breaux Bridge, LA to take in both sites and was shown around by a fellow Member, Phillip who was an awesome host. Tried Boiled crawfish and just saw the sights of the area and had lunch with another member before I left Sunday Claire. I always enjoy meeting people from CM when I am on the road especially being invited to check out the sites and be shown around if I can just get down there and find a place to stay :).
Next week on Wednesday the 22nd in the afternoon I head to Pelham, AL to watch my first niece graduate. Then on the 24th I head to Atlanta to eat at the Varsity for lunch and do World Of Coke (I posted in the events meet up the lunch idea if anyone wants to meet up, message me), after that that late afternoon it's off to Blue Ridge, GA to spend the night and the next day do white water rafting on the Ocoee River. After that experience is over, I head straight to Pigeon Forge, TN where on Sunday after Mass (again posted some possible meet up events if anyone's interested) I will head to Dollywood to check out the world's first flying coaster that opened last year, and on Monday, Memorial Day go to splash Country to ride my first ever water coaster.
Tuesday after Memorial Day it's a long drive back to Little Rock with a stop in Nashville to eat at Noshville (again posted a meet up if anyone is interested for lunch; they are fun).
Then on June 12th I leave for San Diego, where I will drive out to the CA/NV border and take in Death Valley for a couple of days, spend the weekend in Los Angeles (doing Let's make a deal taping on the 15th! Wish me luck! I so want to be on that show), possibly go to Catalina, then head down to San Diego do the zoo and Kayak in La Jolla Cove. I am going with a friend of mine so won't be able to meet up with anyone in CA.
The first weekend in June is a good friend of mine's daughter's birthday in Bentonville so I will be headed there to spend time with what I consider an adopted niece who will be turning four.
To round it all off, there will be another visit to Silver Dollar City (Have a season pass) for moonlight madness to conquer Outlaw Run in the dark, and hopefully at Christmas time.
Any suggestions if you have been to these places; particularly Pigeon Forge, TN in the evening I would appreciate it.:) Thanks!
