We stand strongest when we stand together. As Catholics, we're not asking for special treatment or to be 'above the law'. We ask nothing more than our God-given right to religious liberty. We ask nothing less than that the Constitution and laws of the United States be respected. Officially, the word Catholic means Universal; unofficially, it means we're in this together. Let's please pray and fast during this Fortnight for ourselves and our freedoms, but also for our children and grandchildren who have a right, a God-given right, to grow strong and tall in a land which promotes freedom, in all its forms, especially our most cherished freedom: Religous Liberty!

With prayers for this great nation!
May we stand together as faithful Catholics!
The HHS mandate, aka Obamacare (mandatory coverage of contraception, to begin with).
Our own IRS targeting non-profit groups (conservatives, whose views didn't coincide with our current admin's views),
Our POTUS who recently made a speech for "an alarming call to end Catholic education because .... it encourages division and discourages cooperation."
Keep yourselves informed. CM can give you a wealth of information, most of which WON'T be covered via our regular media. Take a look:
Inform yourselves....then inform others. So many of our own do not know or understand so much of what is happening here in our country. It is up to us to not only pray, but to spread the word. Normally, silence is golden, but not in this case.
And please pray for those who are leading the fight to help preserve our religious liberties:
(lawsuits filed against the Administrations unconstitutional HHS mandate which forces many religious organizations to violate their deeply held religious beliefs, or pay crippling fines)
Prayer for Religious Liberty
O God our Creator, from your provident hand we have received our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You have called us as your people and given us the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God, and your Son, Jesus Christ. Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit, you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world, bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel to every corner of society. We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty. Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith. Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters gathered in your Church in this decisive hour in the history of our nation, so that, with every trial withstood and every danger overcome--for the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and all who come after us--this great land will always be "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Through Christ our Lord.
