Romance Centeredness

Has anyone read Altared? Do you think we as single christians idolize romance and marriage, and selfishly focus too much on finding the "perfect" marriage partner at the cost of truly trusting our lives to God and selflessly loving and serving Him and our neighbour?

Have not read this book yet,it sounds interesting.
I have heard of cases where a person enjoys that initial thrill of romance and newness ,becomes married and settled then bored, leaving to begin all over again...

I have not read the book but I believe we are not doing things right in this area.

Good post Kevin & welcome to the forums!
I'd read a similar point last week on the "Boundless.org" (or .com) web site where the author says if a relationship doesn't work out then, we need to look more at Him (our Lord Jesus), instead of him (relying on man). So, putting our focus on Father, Son & Holy Spirit is the only way to go. Take care! wave Praying

I've never believed in a Mr. Right or Mr. Perfect for me sort of thing. I think you meet someone you have chemistry or common interests with and work from there but I've always been a realist. Some may be lucky and feel instant chemistry and know right away but it's a very few among a vast crowd that are that lucky.
