Christine,
You cannot be Catholic and be for Obama. You can be a Democrat, but Obama voted for infanticide THREE times in the IL senate. He is pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, and an has attacked our Church more than any other politician ever. Catholic Democrats need to step up to the plate and start telling their candidates to support life at all stages. A,ll the social justice items you mentioned are important to Republicans, too. It's just a different philosophy of how to get there. But if you are not for life, what difference does anything else make?
And, by the way, I was employed well until Obama got into things. Now I can't find a full-time job. Employers are only hiring part time for the most part because they are anxious about the Obamacare regulations that no one seems to know about. Right now I have four part time jobs, no benefits, and low pay. Sometimes I work over 40 hours, and mostly seven days a week just to pay my bills. I am no longer getting unemployment, don't get food stamps, or anything from the government. I do use a local health clinic for medicine and follow up, but I also volunteer as an interpreter once per month for them. It can be done. I look forward to the next election when we will no longer have Obama. Even another Democrat would be preferable.

What I can say is that today I was invited to the investiture of a new pastor in the Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ. Yes it is a Black Church and of 200 people I was the only white person. The service started at 4 and lasted till 8:15. Lots of singing, standing, waiving of arms and the good old southern preacher doing his best to direct all to extacy. I rather enjoyed the event and did my best to join in the activities.

Now, the interesting thing is that a Bishop gave a speach telling all that Obama is not a friend of the Black community. He went on about 10 minutes decrying all the things you identify above. I was to say the least surprised. My observation is that most all agreed with him. That means that Obama is loosing his grip on much of my local community.

I hope that some intelligent thinking is beginning to emerge and that the horrors of this administrastion will cease. And soon.

Philip:

That was an interesting recollection of your experience at the all-black
church. I wonder how you got to be invited to that investiture?

I wanted to let you know that there have been many interpretations of how
and why Obama got elected. The black person in America who voted for
Obama probably thought that now they would have a lot of help from
America because he was of their race.

And they also voted for him and were more than pleased that now America
has a person that looks like them at its helm. And that was not even
considered a possibility not too long ago.

But then, there were all too many whites who voted for Obama. They were
joyful that there would be the opportunity for America to see a
nonwhite person in the Office of the President. These are not my
thoughts but come from the media.

Whether they were black or white, how can anyone vote for a person
with little to no experience in the affairs of the Government? That is
basically irresponsible as far as one's voting obligation goes.

Another point is that voting for a black person alone is racist. The
persons who voted for Obama in order to get a black person in that
office were using racist tactics.

Obama had a slogan--Change. That can mean different things to
different people because it was so ambivalent. And Obama's
campaign managers knew that. So to the blacks, it meant change
for them.

Obama never set out to help his fellow blacks. He was an elite among
many. I think he set out to install a socialist, Marxist agenda in our
Government--and that basically meant the ruination of our great country.

Christine:

Thank you for clarifying why NO ONE who has even an ounce of morality
in their souls, should vote for that murderer.

Murder can never be justified when compared to helping the marginalized.

Don't people put any thought into their responsibilities when it comes to
voting? It is beyond me.

I am so sorry to hear that you have 4 different jobs and yet you
also have to raise a family. That is an undue burden for you. I
am sure you planned for your career and worked hard to achieve
a job to support a family. Now, that job is gone.

I wish you could get more help from the government to help you
raise your family while you are underemployed. It seems they
give away plenty of help. You truly need it.

Good luck to you.

I first met the Reverand and his Wife when they moved across the road. They are from California and as a house warming gift I baked them a German Chocolate Cheesecake. We hit it off and yesterday since many of family came from Cal., for the service I again baked them my signature Baklava Cheesecake.

I offered my home to any family that needed a bed as I have 2 bed rooms available. I was promised that they would take me up on my offer the next time.

The Rev. is a golfer so I expect to learn more about his Faith as we chase that game of Cow Pasture Pool.

I am pleased and honored to have them as neighbors and they command my respect. God love them

I don't know if Obama is the chief culprit but he has certainly not proven himself to be a leader. He's in Africa now promising the Africans a phenomenal amount of money. Where does he think this money would come from? Our country is up to our eye balls in debt. Perhaps Obama has a money tree growing in his back yard at the White House next to the vegetable patch his wife planted. Yes, Obamacare is another disaster, another faux pas. Keep in mind that a large percentage of our so called Catholics put Obama where he is today. My conscience is clear. Yes, I am one of the Catholics who didn't particularly care for Romney but I voted for him because it was a vote against Obama. I often wonder what it would be like if Romney got elected. The only recourse we have is to pray Big Time to God, without His help we will descend further down the cesspool until we reach our destination of doom Marianne, did anyone ever tell you that you resemble John Kerry's wife?
Maryjane:

I was quite surprised to find out you thought I resembled Mr. Kerry's wife.
I presume that is the Heinz woman. No, I have never been told I
look like her. I have to find a picture of her on the internet.

I understand you when you say that the rest of the world is on a path to
destruction as well. I would have to say that I think America is much
different than most other countries on that doomed path because of
the way our Founding Father's set it up.

The Federal Government is supposed to take a backseat to the States
Governing. They tried to keep the role of the Federal Government minimal.
They left countries where Government became too intrusive and too
powerful, so they did their best to get away from all of that. In America,
hard work and a bit of creativity could reap massive benefits for
anyone. In other countries, those making money are taxed upwards of
95 percent. The writer of the Children's book, Pipi Longstockings
is an example of that in Sweden.

Marxism, Communism, Socialism, and in America, Liberalism--are
hallmarks of not allowing individuals to keep the fruits of their
hard-earned labor.

I do agree with you though, both of the two major parties in America
have merged. I am not sure why. I can only see that both of them
kowtow to big business. That is why they are pushing so hard for
immigration. That means plenty of cheap labor for factories. Now
the large factories are constantly being closed down by the Feds
if they are using illegals.

As one Senator on the floor of the Senate said, "The question we
should ask is if this bill is good for Americans? I think that was
Mr. Sessions. What a profound question? The problem is, that
question should not be so profound, but it should be mandatory
for any law being passed in this country. And the laws should
only pass if they are good for Americans.

What the heck is going on in this country? Americans are
not being looked out for. And that is not right.

If the country crashes, most of the people you know and probably you yourself will be dead within two weeks. Look at the pictures of the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sandy or Hurricane Katrina and you can begin to get an idea of what life would be like without gasoline, food, water, or electricity. Take away any semblance of authority, and there you have "post-crash" America.

If you have any friends or relatives anywhere else in the world, be very nice to them; you may need them, because you would be far better off there than here (and it doesn't matter where "there" is).

It has been many decades since we have been self-sustaining citizens who lived on farms and had the skills and the wherewithal to tough a situation out and survive. I don't think anyone has any idea of what a crash would look like. The idea that we will all simply get together and put together a new government is absurd; the Civil War would look like a birthday party in comparison.

Oh my... I didn't explain what I meant by "crash." I guess I was thinking of the worst case scenario under Obama: Not a total collapse of modern civilization but the collapse of the American political order, similar to the fall of the Weimar Republic into the Nazi empire under Hitler. I also worry about a collapse of the dollar.

If you want to do the most good for marginalized people with your vote, then don't vote for Democrats, especially in national elections.

Christine, I am confused, besides the obvious, you seem to contradict even yourself?

Yes, American is going downhill at an alarming rate. I won't even debate that one. Which brings up the question I am searching the internet for (and maybe I should have started a new topic)-- As part of our moral and financial bankruptcy, I am wondering how likely the whole financial system will collapse and have been doing research but don't know who to believe. We have created the financial mess and we know God will let us destroy ourselves due to our continuous rejection of Him. So..... I am gathering financial data and trying to figure out if I should move everything into a fixed rate - which will be almost nothing at this time. I keep thinking if we self implode in the next year and I was so close to making a big financial move and I don't do it...... I will be sick to my stomach.

So for others who have determined the demise of America is inevitable - have you made any decisions financially?

I also wonder if increased instability in the Middle East is one more red flag. I suppose if Iran or North Korea fires off a nuclear bomb soon, the stock market might take something that qualifies as more than a bump down.
