George Zimmerman Juror Says He 'Got Away With Murder'
By Alyssa Newcomb (ABC News)
July 25, 2013
The only minority on the all-female jury that voted to acquit George Zimmerman said today that Zimmerman "got away with murder" for killing Trayvon Martin and feels she owes an apology Martin's parents.

"You can't put the man in jail even though in our hearts we felt he was guilty," said the woman who was identified only as Juror B29 during the trial. "But we had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence."

She said the jury was following Florida law and the evidence, she said, did not prove murder.

Trayvon Martin Juror B29: 'George Zimmerman got away with murder'

Filled with regrets and doubt, the only minority on the Florida jury made up entirely of women that found George Zimmerman not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin says that she "can't sleep at night."

"George Zimmerman got away with murder," Maddy, who declined to give her last name, said in an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America," "but you can't get away from God. And at the end of the day, he's going to have a lot of questions and answers he has to deal with."

A 36-year-old of Puerto Rican decent, Maddy said that while she and many of her fellow jurors believed that Zimmerman was guilty of murdering Martin at a housing community in Sanford, Fla. on Feb. 26, "the law couldnt prove it."

Juror B29, in her own words:
  • "George Zimmerman got away with murder."
  • "We were trying to find this man guilty."
  • "I was the juror that was going to give them the hung jury. I fought to the end."
  • "We had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence."
  • "I don't think [the case should have gone to trial]. I felt like this was a publicity stunt."

Wow, I once swore I'd take a stroll through a minefield blindfolded than bring up the Middle East again here in the forums. This subject has turned out to be almost as volatile. Hey, would you look at the time- gotta run!

The socialist/liberals will do everything to throw the american people away from the truth . this Zimmerman thing will stay with us until they can use something else . In the meantime all the other issues are lost in the shuffle . I can say one thing about the right they sure are letting it all happen because there minds are in the twilight zone .

The first statement and the last? If he is guilty of murder than why did she feel it shouldn't have gone to trial. These poor women are scared to death.
It is embarrassing to watch some of these news reports and the way they are keeping this in the public eye no matter what.

The jurors? Some may be afraid.

But this one appeared full on camera and gave her name as "Maddy".
I suspect her actual identity is already widely known,
both in her present hometown and back in Chicago where she recently lived.

She probably blabbed to her circle of associates and was catching grief from them.
So she went public to tell her side, without realizing she was putting herself on the firing line.
She's hoping for sympathy and perhaps some money.

I'm thinking she is saying these things so she won't be targeted. Yes, it is funny she won't give her name but she is showing her face on national tv...

The first and last statements contradict each other.

Two thing we know for sure, the prosecutors trying the case were incompetent Even worse, they did not disclose exculpatory evidence they had to the defense as required,

So this jurors last statement is correct. And if it is correct, her first statement is nonsense.
    Jul 26th 2013 new
Each of her statements is problematic.

"George Zimmerman got away with murder."
But she later admits there was no evidence of this.

"We were trying to find this man guilty."
As a juror she should determine facts and apply the law, not act as a licensed lynch mob.

"I was the juror that was going to give them the hung jury. I fought to the end."
Apparently she did not have the courage of her convictions.

"We had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence."
Her initial desire to convict was based on her emotions (i.e., not on facts, logic, or the law).

"I don't think [the case should have gone to trial]. I felt like this was a publicity stunt."
So no matter what she did or didn't do, it was really the DA's fault.

Yet, in the end, she was convinced to apply the law to the facts.

Obama ? his protectors will do everything and anything to keep distracting all the other issues . The Media helps along , democrats lock step and with all the republicans to get along . just look at the mess this country and the world is in . Also don't you think those jurors are not scared . This community organizer is the one who to fault making this trial for what it is .
