Anne's son drove a Toyota ute ,but there are plenty of "gutsy"utes around, getting bigger and stronger.
When driving down a street in the rain this morning ,Anne laughed in amazement at the sight of a lost kangaroo
hurtling towards her-it veered off into a side road laughingThere are usually kangaroos grazing on the golf club grounds in her local city.Anne is grateful for all the rain, yet is in need of sunshine!

Anne, Sam enjoys reading about people's lives, too!

Sam is in day 3 of school prep. Posters, books and papers are everywhere in her classroom and she has no idea how she will get it all organized by Wednesday. She did see her first student and his bright smile reminded Sam of why she does this job.

Today is a full day of meetings, (just kill me now). I may have a BE retreat this weekend, depending on whether I can find child care for tonight. Sam hasn't taken that kind of time for herself since- well, ever, actually. At the moment, Sam is dragging her feet, but that probably means she should go. Maybe after the retreat she will finally print out her (completed) annulment paperwork and mail it.

Have a happy day, all!

Zoom is registered for a 5K wheelchair race in Charleston, WV in 3 weeks. Rolling Along To prepare, this morning Zoom hit the rail trail near his home. Nice level surface, paved, as I expect the race course to be in Charleston.

Zoom covered 2.4 miles in just under 30 minutes, averaging almost 5 miles an hour. Very pleased with the result .... that's more than 3/4 the distance of a 5K (which is 3.1 miles).

After 11:30am Mass, Rachel ventured into the garden to find lunch! Although she has found that her migraines seem to be tied to fresh raw tomatoes she has been harvesting and eating and had to cease eating last week, she is cooking them this week to see if this prevents more debilitating migraines. So ... she gathered a pan of 3 types of tomatoes, garlic, chives, 2 varieties of basil, another 2 kinds of parsley, celery and peppers and has them simmering to become sauce to serve over pasta. She also picked lettuces, cucumbers, peas and beans to have as salad. She picked, washed and is steeping mint leaves for iced tea. The pumpkins and watermelons look very good but are taking over parts of the garden and yard too! Rachel is praying she will get to enjoy her produce and not suffer accompanying migraines -- especially as her 6 children will all be home this week and she doesn't want to miss a minute of that! mmmm -- she is enjoying the aroma of simmering sauce! She invites anyone in the area to come sample the fruits of her garden! How fun it would be if you showed up!

Edward was originally planning to attend the "Mahrajan" festival in Wheeling today, which is sponsored by Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. But that was contingent on getting clothes washed by Saturday night .... which didn't happen. So Edward attended his normal 11:00 Sunday Mass at St. Mary's and then went to do laundry after lunch. Usually that's done at the laundromat at Edward's apartment complex, but there was a big puddle in the middle of the floor. So, Edward went to Miller's Laundry, which is a couple of miles down the road.

Edward did get a haircut yesterday and is hoping his coworkers will notice tomorrow. wink
