When was the last time you asked someone of the opposite sex for a date?

"Let's go get coffee" qualifies. "Let's hang out sometime" does not.

Two to three years ago I invited my gentleman friend to go to a museum he had always wanted to see.

Am I supposed to be doing more than this?

Almost 10 years, if you can believe it. I've dated two women in my life, and the second I never had to ask. smile We met on a Catholic singles site, and our relationship developed naturally through correspondence and phone calls (she lived 700 miles away in Florida).

Should a woman have to ask a man for a date? Shouldn't he do the asking?

I don't believe in 'shoulds' here. The most that can be said is that many women and some men (maybe a ajority, but I don't know) prefer the traditional approach.
