Buxom. Did you know that during the Middle Ages it meant 'humble, submissive'? and later evolved from that to describe, as it does today, a feminine secondary sexual characteristic. But a medieval preacher could say "Christ ascended the Cross in buxomness". Still earlier than that, if I remember right, in Anglo-Saxon England, 'buxom' referred to the flexible quality of a well-made archer's bow...which quite logically evolved into 'submissive'.
