Yes, MaryAlice! This is a daily struggle for me. I always prepared great meals for our family of 7, and now it is just me. I find myself eating either peanut butter and jelly or a microwave dinner. Sad to admit to this, as I did fancy myself a good "southern" cook. A friend of mine shared with me not too long ago to make a point of preparing one nice meal for myself each week, complete with a glass of wine, candles, the whole bit. I've not been consistent with this practice, but I think I need to give it another go. I deserve it!

Welcome to the forums, Paula .... hug rose rose rose

You know, either my Mom or maybe my Godmother said the same thing to me .... prepare at least one very nice meal (with all the accessories -- candles, wine, etc.) once a week ... like you, I haven't been very consistent with this ... can't see going to all that trouble for just myself ... almost seems selfish .... oh well, cheers to you, Paula Cheers! rose

Paula - I know exactly what you are saying! For years, I never ate dinner... what was the point in cooking for myself? At least, that was how I looked at it. I think the suggestion of having a nice meal in your company alone is a good idea, albeit not the easiest to follow through with.

My prayers for you!

I miss dirty socks on the floor, dishes in the sink I didn't dirty, bringing a plate of food and hearing, "Wow that looks great!", backrubs, I really miss backrubs.
