Before anyone points it out, yes I know I'm not over 45
But I have a story to share about my good friend and her husband who are in their early 80's. Our 11 yr old daughters are best friends. When their daughter got taken away from her bio parents, my friend felt pulled to get involved. Her and her husband talked and prayed about it. They were worried about the typical things, how could they deal with a baby, how would they keep up with her as she got older, what about their health...
After much prayer, they continued to fell compelled by God to take her. Many of the family tried to talk them out of it and got upset when they wouldn't back down from their choice. One of their grown daughters will barely speak to them to this day.
That little girl is cherished. They don't always succeed in keeping up with her, but it doesn't bother her. She knows she is loved. when someone refers to them as her grandparents she corrects them instantly.
I get questions along the lines of "this didn't exsist when we raised our first kids, how do you handle it?" We share silly stories. And we vent over raising only children.
I shared this story because no matter what we think we want, or what we plan for our futures, we have to keep our hearts open to what God wants. Did they plan on having a baby in their 70's. Absolutely not! Thy will be done...
Angela, Beautiful story! Jesus We Trust In You! Thank you for sharing. God bless, Veronica
