Thanks---and that's what we call any ceremony (using a simple blessing and prayer) for a couple who weren't married in the Church that wish to have themselves considered married in the Church. Had the couple sought permission before, there wouldn't have been any issue or defect whatsoever, if it had been received, to marry in the bride's family's church. Since they didn't ask, the priest wouldn't allow the husband to convert until official forgiveness of the defect took place and he held off until the wife was expecting. . .
