Anyone else think it is strange and narcissistic to hear Obama refer to the "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act," or the "Healthcare for America Plan" as "Obamacare"? Is that the official name of this plan/act?

Cat

... is the "official" title of the Obamacare law.

In Newsweek's article, "Why Obama Must Go", Niall Ferguson said, "A much more accurate term would be 'Pelosicare," since it was she who really forced the bill through Congress."

btw: I don't think "Obamacare" is the official name.

HURT: Obama the debater: Making Jimmy Carter look awesome

"Party like its 1980!

Bewildered and lost without his teleprompter, President Obama flailed all around the debate stage last night. He was stuttering, nervous and petulant. It was like he had been called in front of the principal after goofing around for four years and blowing off all his homework.

Not since Jimmy Carter faced Ronald Reagan has the U.S. presidency been so embarrassingly represented in public. Actually, thats an insult to Jimmy Carter."

Still wrong quotes. I give up. faint

Totally agree that Romney was superior in the debate. Hoping it continues into the next two. But I have little doubt Obama will go negative in desparation... and the big question for me is how Romney will reply. I am just glad that Obama's term is coming to a halt, and by his own undoing.

I would not put anything past Obama. This thing is FAR from over. He has enacted a lot of Executive Orders that can be used in an "emergency" (their definition). And don't forget about all of the useful idiots who will vote for Obama no matter what because they are benefiting from a bunch of free stuff. And then let's not forget that Mitt Romney has been known as a RINO for a LONG time. He sounds good now because he is trying to appeal to the Tea Party base, but what will he actually do if he is elected president? As long as we continue to elect someone left of the Constitution, we will continue the march toward socialism and loss of freedoms.

From your message, you wrote...
As a "spin room" commentator said "the president was busy all day being the president....but Rommney looked more refreshed having done nothing all day before the debate."

I think that it is difficult for someone to argue that "the president was busy all day being the president" when it was reported that the president took time off on Tuesday to take a field trip to Hoover Dam (see the article below):

whitehouse.blogs.cnn.com

In the president's own words, commenting on the Hoover Dam trip (from the article)....
"Its spectacular and I've never seen it before. I didn't realize it was so close by,” Obama told reporters along for the trip. Marvin [Nicholson] said we were only 15 miles away and I said well we've got to go check it out.”

It seems to me that he could have used that "tourist time" more wisely to either practice more for the debate, or get in some extra sleep so that he would be well-rested. It doesn't seem to me that he was "busy all day" on Tuesday "being the president".

Well, you know Ed, Pres. Obama has had such a rough 4 years - spending so much time playing golf, playing basketball with his Chicago cronies (and he had to fly here several times to do that), playing more golf, attending rock concerts in the White House, playing more golf, hanging out with his actor friends in Hollywood, playing still more golf, going on Letterman, et. al, taking Michelle out to dinner (he still comes back to go to Spiaggia in Chicago - one of their favorite places), playing yet more golf, etc. that he must just be really exhausted. Perhaps he should take a spa vacation (oh, yes, I think he already does that when he goes away in the summer). rolling eyes

I just can't take it anymore, if Mitt Romney doesn't get elected, I think I'll need the vacation (oh yeah, I already have one planned - down to Puerto Vallarta end of November (perhaps I'll look at apartments while I'm there if Obama was reelected.)biggrin faint
