Charles,

I believe that you are lying to yourself if you in saying that the differences between the candidates "are merely cosmetic rather than philosophical" (as you wrote). No one who studies what the two presidential candidates have said and done can rationally come to such a conclusion.

This is a demonstration of "militant passivity" (which is the best way that I can describe it at this time). It is not noble, praiseworthy, responsible or courageous. To do such a thing is really just a pathetic cop-out on one's responsibilities as a citizen. To do such a thing is to stand up for nothing. Such a citizen, living in the U.S., has much more freedom and many more choices than the majority of the global population to help choose the path for his/her nation. But instead of exercising that freedom, that citizen decides to whine that they don't have better choices. To act in such a way is to be spoiled in one's freedom. Such a person must be very sheltered to not understand the true privilege and responsibility that they possess, living in relative peace and freedom in these United States. Probably the majority of the global population will never get the opportunity to make such a free and unrestricted choice in an election, and many do exercise the right to vote at great personal risk of being killed in the process.

Charles, here is a link to an article about a 14 year old Pakistani teenager (in the news this week). She was shot in the head by a member of the Taliban this week because she dared to stand up for her right to go to school and because she has consistently spoken out against the restrictions imposed by the Taliban. Charles, even if she survives, she will almost certainly never get the privelege and opportunity to freely vote for the leader of her country without the constant threat of being killed in the process. She is standing up for something important. She has literally risked being killed to help put her country on a better path. If she could only be so fortunate as to have the choices and freedoms that you have, she certainly wouldn't sit on the sidelines and whine because she doesn't have better choices. If you don't use your right to vote, don't be surprised if it is taken away from you someday.... as you did nothing to prevent it from happening.

I hope that you will use your God-given brains and God-given freedoms to get out and vote in November. If you don't vote, it may be taken away from you in the future.

Just my thoughts.

Ed

Number 4 is the biggest reason of all. Dress up like Ayn Rand for Halloween!

Atlas Shrugged was prophetic. I think it should be mandatory reading in every high school in the land.

I can safely say it was the most popular book at Naval Hospital San Diego when I was in training. It is more valid now than ever.

Obama has already been caught on tape telling an emissary for Putin that he just needed a little more time to get past this election and then he can do what he really wants to do. God help the world if Obama is re-elected. And God save the world from the wrath of the globalists if he isn't.

I wish they would replay that particular tape in the news at least once a day to remind people what he said.....

24 years ago when I was expecting my son my first Doctor visit was in August, Andrew was born in November. Because I was a single Mom to Be who had just gotten divorced the Doctor I saw felt it was necessary to 'educate' me on my options. Mind you I was at a facility that did not offer abortions and or advocate them. Had I been the person then that I am now I would have reported that Doctor to someone there then. Because I have since found out he was fired because of statements like that he made to patients. If we just sit and do nothing we might as well give up....I pray, I earnestly pray that people wake up. Do you really want a Doctor telling your daughter what her options are even if she never asked to have them explained? rosary

That same facility is now run by the St Anthony network of Doctors, a recent change. So hopefully no one else will be enlightened.... scratchchin

You are wrong. Patricia is right. And I say this with all kindness.

Mary: you are far too kind in this case. Having defended the right to vote, and knowing that millions of innocent children have been aborted due to liberal democrat platform candidates' actions, I am truly appalled at the notion that voting is a futile action. It is a right that people have died for, Charles. Use it to do the better thing, even if it's not up to your ideals. Your ideals are not reachable at present, but can be within reach in measurable steps. Voting Obama out of office is an essential step. Keeping him in only makes the goal further from reach.

Charles, if you are ready to turn over all of your freedoms to the United Nations and the Bilderbergers and the CFR and the globalist bankers, they would be very happy to hear that. You can fight the fight where you stand, or you can just throw your hands up and quit. All of the aforementioned are thrilled to hear you talk like that, because that will make it that much easier for them to defeat your generation.

By the way, you may never have been taught this in any of your school classes, but the United States is a republic as referenced in the words of the Pledge of Allegiance. You do know the Pledge of Allegiance, right? "... and the REPUBLIC for which is stands..." A republic is a nation founded on laws, foremost among those laws is that all fundamental rights come from God. The Bill of Rights was highly contested by the Founding Fathers, not because they disagreed with the amendments themselves, but whether or not they even needed to be stated at all. These 10 amendments (there were originally a couple more) were so fundamental to the beliefs of our founders that many of them thought that they did not need to be stated because they were so obvious. But some of the founders wisely persisted in having these amendments added to Madison's Constitution just in case people later on didn't know for sure what their rights were. These rights are from God, not from any government. They are inalienable. That means that they cannot either by given or taken away by any man. The amendments (Bill of Rights) do not grant rights to Americans; they protect those rights that are granted to us by God alone. In a democracy, it isn't about laws; it is about the rule of the mob. Democracy is one step closer to socialism, which is one step closer to communism. This is the road that your country is on now. It may not matter to you now, but it will, and if you have not awoken to your responsibilities as a free man by that time, it may well be too late.
