Hi Tony. I'm sorry to hear you are of the above opinion. I think you are being judgemental and unfair. To compare a good Catholic woman who is serious about her Faith and who is looking for a lifelong spouse to a secular woman whose faith could mean nothing or little to her is doubtless hurtful and unjust. What such 2 women are in my opinion looking for could easily be very far apart. Doesn't have to be, but could easily be. The former will not wish to waste your time, and money, getting a free meal out of you, while the other might be of a different opinion, and have no qualms about feasting on your account.

If something is worth having, and quality always is, than it is worth fighting and patiently waiting for, and for quality that is what one usually has to do, and be. Anything else comes easy for it is plentiful, and often readily available, for various ends. If you decide to compromise, than you will make a grave error. To accept a woman who is Protestant or worse still, atheist, just because you lack patience in waiting for God to send you the woman He wants for you, but for whom you might need to wait some time for, is most unwise, uncatholic, insulting to God, and guarantees failure, for if God will not bless that union, and He won't, what can you expect from it?!

There are various saints you can pray to for their intercession for a good wife, saint Agnes, saint Anthony, saint Raphael for instance. Give them a chance, they'd love to help. We as Catholics have an entire heaven above at our disposal for whatever we may be in need of, why not than use what is so readily offered?

God bless you Tony with a wife of your dreams. NO NO!!! An even better one!!!

Joe, you make some valid points, but it is totally absurd to say God will not bless a union between a Catholic and a Protestant. Besides, I have met many Protestant women who have more in common with Catholic morals and faith than many other Catholic women that I know.

Yes, it is possible. I believe that the man I'm waiting to meet is just waiting for the right moment.

It certainly is possible-- anything is possible, of couse, with God's help-- but it doesn't mean that the odds are very good, or that anyone should bet everything on one avenue of meeting people.

Welcome, Rita. I would not be here with CM if I thought it was not possible. I see it as a wonderful tool with filtering capabilities in finding the true one. You made the right decision. I personally know of one person, and she was young. But, as stated here by many other CMers, there are success stories of older couples. theheart

"I'm thinking it's not very likely. There's something wrong with Catholic women. If you go on any secular site, it is easy to get a date. Women actually respond. And you can have a very pleasant evening. But in the end, you know her faith and your Faith will never mix, and you can never share the deepest recesses of your heart, because she can never probe the depths of your Faith with you."

I don't think it has anything to do with the women on CatholicMatch. CM has excellent filtering mainly due to the various view points in Catholicism. As with women, men can select the points that are very important to them thereby narrowing your chances of getting dates. You are handsome and have a wonderful smile. It's a good thing to occasionally review your profile and perhaps change a few things that may enhance your chances of getting a date. I have been with this site for a year now and have had only 2 dates... Happy searching and I pray you find that special person.

Please don't marry a Protestant! God bless. theheart

Yes, I am a believer of finding someone special online! I met my special friend on the 1st day that I joined CM and we have been dating 1 1/2 years. I am a young widow and he has been such a blessing in my life. He truly is a gentleman that openly shares his faith and makes me a better person! Because my kids are still having difficulties accepting a new man in their lives, our favorite saying is "All is God's time . . . not ours!". So don't give up hope on meeting that special someone. My best advice is to be willing to show others the "genuine" you.

Merry Christmas!

Michele I agree with you. I also think you need to be willing to show others your genuine self.
