I will be doing bargain Tuesday movies with a lady from work this week. Both of us are comfortable going alone but we agreed it might be fun to hang out for a movie once in awhile....

I was in the same sitution after my divorce -- felt odd going to see movies by myself so I didn't. Eventually I realized that hey! I want to see these movies so I go alone and am fine with it.

This weekend the new Bond movie. And the new vampire flick. I wish it were more "vampire" than romance, but I find it interesting enough to see them.

It's taken a couple of years, but I think I'm finally getting used to it. It's fun! Recently, I took myself on vacation to the North Shore of Lake Superior and did a lot of road cycling. Could not have felt happier. On the way back from a particularly long ride, I literally felt out of calories, so I stopped off at a little restaurant. What I didn't know was that the place was a bit upscale! So, in my obnoxiously vibrant (and sweaty) bike jersey and bandana, I sat down for a good meal and caught a few smiles and looks. Too tired and famished to care. The wait staff fawned over me. I had an excellent time! biggrin

I think I might just take that "Mr. Invisible" out next week. I have been dying to see Lincoln! None of the "real" guys I've gone out with seem like the types to like it.

This Mr Invisible is quite the charmer but I think we can teach him a thing or two about what we would really like to "SEE" in him. Would'nt you agree?

You should try it. I just saw "Lincoln" last weekend. A few months ago I wanted to see "Beauty and the Beast" in 3-D. I was the only adult in the theater that wasn't escorting a seven or eight year old girl in a princess dress, but I didn't care. I didn't know many people who would enjoy seeing that movie with me, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see my favorite Disney flick in 3-D so I went anyway. I had a blast. I didn't have to feel like I was dragging anybody with me. It's dark in the theater so nobody can see you anyway, and when you leave the theather people aren't looking to see if you came with anyone because they're generally discussing the movie they just saw. If it makes you feel more comfortable, purchase your tickets online so you won't have to stand in line alone at the box office. Just hand over your ticket and walk in.

Hey Peter, with all the lovely ladies around, there are a few that have their dance card that can have your name on it wink

The invisible man/woman is a lot more fun IRL than in the imagination shhh

Holidays are coming ladies and gentlemen, be inventive, form a get together and meet people IRL - they are a lot more fun than the invisible man/woman. cool

Unfortunately, the romance sells the movie - Hey Eric, there are some great ladies on the site - keep contacting them and find out which one can stand under the mistletoe this year with you.

But I really want to see the new Bond flick. Sooo....I'm going out with the Invisible Man!

It begs the question, guys.... Seen any good movies lately? Taken YOURSELF to any good movies lately?

Rhis thread is cute and light hearted about something that we all face. Sure, you shouldn't let being alone keep you from seeing a movie ir going to dinner. Granted having great company is always preferable in my mind but great company starts with me being a fairly well rounded person. So get out there! enjoy this beautiful life that God has blessed us with! May the joy and love of God radiate from you as you do, as we all do, so that all will see us and wonder what it is that we have that they don't. As far as the invisible man goes...I got a real chuckle out of your decription of him. I found it to be pretty farn accurate fo MY INVISIBLE man as well...lol As far as movies go, there are a number of them I'd like to see but since I am currently trying to be frugal with my funds, I will stick with REDBOX. Wanyone want to come over? I have popcorn~

Not only do I go see movies alone, the last time I had the whole theatre to myself! Talk about a private viewing. laughing
