Not being blasphemous here but... Ever feel being a practicing Catholic Christian is a turn-off to a potential mate?

Well, if you're not a "practicing" Catholic then why the hell are you on a Catholic dating site looking for a mate? A trophy? Just for kicks?

That is, assuming you're referring to looking for a mate on a Catholic dating site...

Only if they are not practicing Catholics themselves. ANd if they are not why would one see them as a potential mate anyway?

To go the other direction, it's assumed that roughly 75% of Catholics in this country aren't regularly practicing and do not attend Mass every week. So, if those within our own faith who do not practice our faith regularly outnumver us who do by a 3:1 ratio then that in itself presents a large hurdle for us to overcome, if someone equally yoked to us is what we are seeking. Add in those not of our faith and the pool of potential mates becomes that much smaller.

That said, it's probably no more or less difficult for faithfully practicing Catholics to find a mate of the same as it is for someone of any other faith who seeks the same. Dating in itself comes with enough challenges - the limiters only present a few more obstacles to overcome.

You would hope that this would not be the case on a Catholic dating site, but sadly I have felt that same way. Not everyone takes their faith that seriously.

I'm guessing you are discussing potential dates IRL? But yes, there are plenty of people who are anti-Catholic and even some Catholics who feel threatened by other Catholics who take their Faith more seriously than them.

I often feel as if just the fact that I am at the parish often intimidates Both non Catholics and other Catholics who may not appreciate the gift of our faith as much. But, talking with those who don't "hear the call" or heed it sometimes feels like speaking a foreign language to someone. I cannot imagine doing that day in day out through a marriage. It is taxing. Speaking of Mass to a Baptist is like speaking Latin to someone, no pun intended.
