The one we have is the best on earth. Our First Amendment is a marvel. Shame on Rome for fighting it tooth and nail for the first century of our country's existence.

It also noted that the kings were annointed to rule in Temporal affairs under God's laws and, therefore, were accountable to God. It also meant that where there was a conflict between Church and Temporal, the Spiritual held precedence over the temporal, whereas in Liberal Republics the opposite is true.

The later was the very goal of the archetects of the modern liberal republic, Hobbes and John Locke.

Please forgive the vehemence of my replies. They're not directed at the posters but rather at the ideas expressed.

God reigns in our hearts and not in our capitals. We can't expect government in perfect alignment with Christian principles. It has never existed and it never will.

Whenever religion and politics are intermingled, religion suffers dire consequences.

The new Testament says absolutely NOTHING about the preferred form of governemnt. They are what they are. God's kingdom is not of this world. Render unto Caesar what is Ceasar's and unto God what is God's. Right? I've lived in an absolute religious monarchy (Saudi Arabia) and it was a hot mess of corruption and intolerance. Do you really think a Catholic monarchy could be much better? If so, please read your history books a little more closely. Even in Spain where the king is referred to as "His Catholic Majesty", the government is parliamentary and often socialist, abortion is legal, and the monarch has little or no actual role in governing. Monaco, with a Catholic monarch is a police state and packed to the rafters with tax cheats, casinos, crooked banks, and nude sunbathers. Oh the glories of a Catholic monarchy! Mix politics with religion and religion invariably suffers very badly. Do you want that?

Just thank God every day that we have the First Amendment here in the USA and be grateful we're not living in China, Indonesia, Pakistan, The Palestinian Territory, Nigeria, or other countries where Catholics really suffer persecution. Spare us the dire "Chicken Little" forecasts and simply live within the system we have. We can and should work to improve things to the extent we can but accept it when there's no way to fully improve things. GOD's KINGDOM IS NOT OF THIS WORLD. How many times did Jesus say that? God's kingdom is within our hearts, so focus there. Enough silliness about establishing a Catholic monarchy. That's not only an irrational pipe dream, it's also delusional and (forgive me for saying so) but more than a little bit crazy.

You forgot to mention South Sudan.

I tend to agree with ranting David on this one (passions are hard to keep in check when you feel strongly about something and actually have knowledge about it as well)

Everything evolves, monarchy's were necessary when the people were illiterate and ignorant of what was necessary for self rule (sacrifice), they were too busy just trying to tend their little gardens and feed their families. The only perfect monarchy is Christ as King and the Court of Heaven as our family. And since we are all royalty by our Baptism, we really already are in a a Monarchy, the best one, but the Throne Room is in Heaven. {{{Sigh}}} if we all just long for Heaven then we will live out our vocation no matter what rule of earthly authority we are under

Thanks Joanna!

We change the world not by better government but rather by living faithfully to the gospels.

There are fifty million plus Americans who would beg to differ; these were the Americans who were "legally" murdered in their mothers' wombs in the last forty years.

If this really is the best form of government on earth, then it is an absolute marvel that the sun rises every morning.

There is no question that if you look at the blueprints for our government, it's a brilliant design.

It's the practical application part that always gets botched up.

The moral and spiritual decline of the west was the result of the FDR administration abolishing the Roman Catholic Monarachy. The last RC King in Italy was UmbertoII he was removed because he kept the Old Roman Catholic Order. The Old Roman Catholic Order was heaven on earth since it forbade any and all vices. Compare those days with the hell on earth we live in today. The succession of Kings was unbroken from the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine who officially established our church.

Constantine was an Emperor of Rome which is just another name for King. The RC Kings ruled the church after him. Kingships go hand and hand with the church. The deliberate and planned fall of the church began in incremental steps after WW2 by the unseen victors (federal reserve banking cartel) bankers. Vatican II was implemented after WW2 and after the FDR banking criminals outlawed our Kings all of our Kings were true RC Kings, all of our present day Kings or Prince's are frauds. The EU banking cartel took over the church and the dogma of the church (if not stopped) will be replaced with the 'Jewish Holocaust' where so called 'deniers' and revisionists are thrown in prison.

The reason why the Kings went hand and hand with the church was because they had militaries under their command. They protected the church, the Pope by himself and all of the clergy have no defense against our enemies.

Yes, but sadly the practical application always gets botched up. We live in an imperfect world. We can't expect any government to honor and live by Christian principles.
