Are you a skateboarder?

Jan 31st 2013 new

I'd like to know:

1. How fast can a good skateboarder go on city streets and side walks, in terms of miles per hour (and assuming no traffic)?

2. If you have a good, expensive board, would you use it on a smooth but unpaved trail (assuming it was permissable to do so)?

This is random. 1) the fastest clocked skater went 80mph. But a lot of it depends on circumstances, where and on what the skater is on, etc. On a straightaway, it depends on the skater himself. But you can go gnar Y fast in a pool, what with the curves and the smooth surface. 2) you would never take an expensive board on dirt. You don't even want to take it through a puddle. And it's not the board, it's the trucks and specifically the bearings. A good skater knows how to repair and repack his bearings though. Help any?
