Margo is at the end of what she called her Oil Change Week, in which she picked up her son in Madison, who had just flown in to O'Hare Airport in Chicago from Berlin earlier that day. He took the bus to Madison. Then we drove home.

The next day (Tue), M worked. The next day, M and Very Bright Son drove to East Grand Forks, MN, where we stayed overnight w/M's baby sister (16 yrs younger) and her 2 kiddos. M of course, now knows tons abt German culture. The next day (Th), we drove to Minot, N.D., where we attended Accomplished Daughter's Honors Ceremony. Ex-Husband and Blue Name Daughter were there too. Friday was Accomplished Daughter's graduation ceremony. Cool. M, Family Friend and her daughter then carvaned back to Wisconsin, staying overnight at a Super 8 Somewhere in MN, then finally arriving home Sat afternoon.

Margo loves being a Daughter of Dakota, loved seeing 2 sisters, 1 BIL, 2 nephews, 1 niece and assorted others. She is fascinated by the oil industry, how it is affecting her native culture, how journalists are reporting the news, which she once did. But man! Margo is glad to be home again! She has caught up on laundry, yardwork, even made granola w/dried cherries, raisins, coconut, sunflowers, oatmeal, cinnamon, brown sugar. That's her way of grounding herself -- food, clean clothing and digging in the dirt.

There's no place like home, esp when it smells good. wave

Zoom has the most important stuff packed for his trip -- clothes, medications, medical supplies (well, most of them -- see below), maps, tour books and handicap parking placard.

About those medical supplies. Usually, one of Zoom's suppliers ships out on the 10th of the month. Zoom felt that was uncomfortably close to the start of his trip, so he asked the supplier late last month if they could be shipped a few days early. They said they could ship on the 7th. Last Monday, the 6th, Zoom called to reconfirm the shipment on the 7th, and it seemed everything was OK ....

Then yesterday, Zoom decided to check the status of the package. According to UPS, the shipment went out on the 10th as usual. irked irked irked

It's expected to arrive here Wednesday, the 15th, the day before Zoom leaves on his trip. This leaves almost no room for error. Zoom is a bit annoyed that the supplier promised TWICE to move up the shipment and then failed to follow through.

Hopefully, though, the shipment will be on time and Zoom can finish packing Wednesday night. Praying

Oh -- Zoom also updated his Garmin GPS. It looks like he will have to buy a memory card in the near future, because the full update wouldn't fit on his 4-year-old Garmin. Since Zoom has, to date, not used the GPS in Canada, and has no immediate plans to do so, he elected to exclude Canada from this update. (Sorry my Canadian friends sorry Canada )
