I am not blaming Obummer for my tax bill.

I do blame him for the lame brain economic policies that continue to put pressure on housing prices.

High unemployment continues, people have less money to buy houses, ergo housing prices fall. Because of the way unemployment figures are calculated, the actual unemployment rate is grossly understated.

With fewer people working less money is spent. A vicious circle forms. The less money spent, lower profits; lower profits can and do cause higher prices. Costs have to be covered. The Feds continue to print money far beyond the economy's need. Excess money causes its value to fall. When the value of money falls inflation occurs.

Sorry, but I lay the blame right where it belongs.

I read in a USA Today article that his full official title is now "His Holiness Benedict XVI, Roman pontiff emeritus".

I think that Pope Emeritus Benedict could not have been more clear that he no longer has papal authority. Just a few signs and gestures from the past few days:

1) His Papal "fisherman's" ring (which he had worn on his right hand) was destroyed. This is done with all papal rings after the Pope (usually) dies. This ring symbolizes his papal authority and is physically used (with hot wax) to officially seal Papal documents. For more info concerning this, see the article (in bold font) at the end of this post.

2) He has removed the red Papal shoes, which symbolize the blood of martyrs, and replace them with simple brown shoes (received as a gift from his visit to Mexico).

3) On Thursday he told the cardinals, "Among you is also the future pope, whom I today promise my unconditional reverence and obedience."

4) His (former) apartment at the Vatican will be sealed off during the conclave to select a new Pope to ensure no documents in process prior to his resignation will be issued.

5) As of 8:00 PM on Thursday, he no longer has the real or ceremonial personal protection of the Swiss Guard.

6) And perhaps least of these symbols of the papacy.... He will no longer use the pope-mobile.

I think that he has made it about as clear as possible that he definitely no longer has the authority of the Pope.

Once Benedict officially relinquishes his papal miter Thursday, his fisherman’s ring will be destroyed using a special silver hammer. The moment symbolizes the end of the Pope’s authority and also serves a more practical purpose.

It is a signet ring, used to officially seal documents and ensure their authenticity.

“This is to make sure no one will forge a document in the Pope’s name after the Pope dies,” said Fordham University theology Prof. Maureen Tilley.

Benedict’s apartment at the Vatican will also be sealed off during the conclave to select a new Pope to ensure no documents in process prior to his resignation will be issued.

I heard on the news that an X will be burned into the gold ring so it no longer can be used. If it is destroyed with a hammer after
that it will make sense.

Also, Ed, if I remember correctly, when Benedict first became Pope and they talked about his red shoes, they said they were
his own personal choice to wear the red shoes. Now they have changed that into something more melodramatic. Do you
remember hearing that 8 years ago?

Overpopulation always has been a myth. But the oligarchs still believe in it as if it were a religious dogma. Yes, we're actually going into a crisis of not having enough people, but reality for the oligarchs/ruling class does not have much meaning. Overt population control is too difficult. The easier method to enforce population control is through destruction of economies. Destroying markets, causing economic collapse and creating famines are very effective. We have a ruling class in this country and pretty much the West in general that is literally insane.

The ruling class is nuts then. They will be taken down with the collapse. Don't they know that?

That sounds like what the Hunt brothers wanted to do with Silver. But the Government wised up and saw their intentions
and stepped in. From what I understand, they lost all their fortune and went broke.

American student punished for refusing to recite Mexican pledge of allegiance?

"A Texas high school student has filed a federal lawsuit against her school after her Spanish teacher allegedly gave her a failing grade for refusing to recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance.

The lawsuit says the McAllen Independent School District violated 15-year-old girl Brenda Brinsdons constitutional rights, saying that the Supreme Court forbids teachers from compelling schoolchildren to pledge their allegiance to a country.

The complaint also states that the student was not allowed to recite the American Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish in front of the class as an alternative assignment. The teacher, Reyna Santos, gave her a different assignment on the Independence of Mexico to which she received 13 out of 100 points.

The school district has a policy that prohibits a school from compelling students to recite the American Pledge of Allegiance or text from the Declaration of Independence if the student as determined by the district, has a conscientious objection to the recitation, Fox News Todd Starnes reports."

Ed, on CM, we have been very aware of the liberal bend of the media. As a matter of a fact, it is more than a
liberal bend. It is down right lies or truth stretched to point of not being relevant.

Personally, I don't know how listeners can ever believe a word the President says when he says one thing
one day and the exact opposit the next day. He may not be the fourth estate, but he messes with truth
just like the media does.

How do you find your fellow military? Are they very liberal or conservative, or mixed?

It amazes me how some people are still in denial. I worked hard to defeat "OBAMA" in November. I believe he did/does not want what is best for our country. I stepped way out of my comfort zone to campaign against him and to save this country. Though we won North Carolina we lost the country.

I now have a new attitude. We who are expecting the worse will be able to deal with issues better than those who believe government will take care of them and that everything is okay. Boy are they in for a shock. Higher food bills, electric bills and medical costs are just the beginning. Margaret Thatcher said it best "The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money".

Increasing the minimum wage to $9.00 is absurd. Unemployment will go from bad to worse if this occurs. Companies just can't afford it.

Crime rate is skyrocketing (because comunities can not afford to pay law enforsement officers) but yet they want to take away our guns.

Common sense has gone out the door. I recently heard about the 5th grader who bought a paper gun (a folded piece of paper with the corner torn off) to schood. She was searched and called a murderer. Come on folks...it is paper and looks like an "L". And that is called protecting our children. I believe that is the worst kind of child abuse. Mentally attacking a child is so cruel.

I pray that people will wake up.

I hope that teacher gets run over by an illegal Mexican immigrant without a driver's licence or insurance. It is hard
to believe that teacher did that to the student. She should be fired. She is messing with Federal law now.
