On December 10, 2012 I started working for Chrysler at Indiana Transmissions Plant I. I went through the training and followed the rules. I never missed a day or was tardy, and I did not talk on my cell phone. I even took notes. I was able to learn every job they trained on. Some of the people who had difficulty were told they passed and were transferred to Indiana Transmissions Plant II. On the very last day that I needed to finish in order to pass. I was escorted to Human Resources where I was told that I was not being retained. They came up with so many excuses that had no real basis and I have good reason to believe that I was being discriminated against because I am white and the human resource manager thought I would be an easy target. I immediately filed a grievance and on the way out the gate I told the Human Resource man that if they would consider taking me back I would not hold any grudges. I was sincere when I said that to him and I still am sincere about even though I learned they were making up false excuses after the facts. I am their conscience kicks in and they will take me back soon. I need my job so I can help my mother out who is on a limited income.
The Union VP knows me and remembers how I drove through some of North Central Indiana's worst weather to get to work and be there on time as well. As a Caravan Knight employee I worked hard and got along with practically anybody and I minded my own business. I kept track of my time and was not late getting back from my breaks and the same went with Chrysler. I have made it an effort to look for work elsewhere. Please please pray for me.
