If a person equates "chemistry" with "instant physical attraction" and believes this is necessary, then IMHO he/she has no understanding of what a relationship is about.
That said, you must:
- be compatible
- "get" each other (laugh at the same things, not talk at cross purposes, etc.)
- LIKE each other sufficiently to be willing to consider building LIKE into LOVE
A close CM friend once told me, "You are perfect for me, on paper. But I feel that I owe my wife a certain amount of passion." He was absolutely correct: we work well as friends, but neither of us likes the other well enough to take it further.
