Yes, thank God. Is it enough to make people realize how sick our laws are...allowing this murder seconds before the baby is out...I hope so! If it is up to planned parenthood and Obama who as senator stated numerous times that he thinks a baby should be allowed to be terminated outside of the womb if "it was the mother's intent", it won't be. Think about it...what is the difference between this murderer and the current president....one actually had the guts to do the murders while the other has the guts to force us to pay for this murderer and say what he is doing is ok.

irked The man is more than a Monster. My oldest son asked me "Why and How" could someone do what this So-Called doctor did. I told him, GREED. I don't care if he is 76 yrs. old, he the Epitome of EVIL. hissyfit

Praying hug My Lord, My Almighty God, have mercy on those poor murdered babies and the woman who died in his office. My Heart tells me God has a VERY SPECIAL PLACE for Dr. Gosnell. And the knowledge that he is not the only doctor performing abortions - late term - and otherwise just tears at my Heart. sad

4th Sorrowful Mystery, Jesus theheart carries His Cross. He stops at the weeping women.

Luke 23:28-31 "...Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me: weep instead for yourselves and your children, for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, 'Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed'. At that time people will say to the mountains, 'Fall upon us!' and to the hills, 'Cover us!' for if these things are done when the wood is green what will happen when the wood is dry?'." theheart

Unfortunately, there's only so far the "mentally unwell" card can be played.

[According to the court] He obviously is in his right mind. He obviously acted knowingly and with full intention. Therefore he still has free will to make the choice to repent. Let us pray for his conversion and his salvation.

Of course, the reality is Gosnell was the only schmuck to get caught. There'll be a lot more out there doing what he's doing. I've heard stories from older nursing colleagues about abortions down here where babies survived abortions and left to die. Some were just flushed whole and wriggling down the sluice with the poop from the neighbouring ward.

Maybe Gosnell's actions will wake people up.

I agree Naomi, and a great deal of prayers will be needed because the pro-life movement is still seen as a small percentage of the population (or at least the ones that openly profess to be pro-life and make the presence visible.

I'm appaled when I hear "Catholics" defending Obama's stance on abortions, etc.. Isn't that like saying you're a vegitarian but eating steak every day? I don't get it! Prayers for them as well! Praying

I was at a party shortly before Christmas, and people started praising Obama's speech after the school killing, and practically had the man a saint. I said that I was sickened by his speech because on one hand he correctly points out that one life lost is too many (no argument there Obama) but then he turns around and funds Planned Parenthood and says the more lives we can loose the better, here's more tax dollars to help you in your mission. I was told I couldn't think of it like that, because the gun violence was a tragedy, and it can't be compared to abortions. Ummm why not?? Well apparently it's wrong to think like that because that's not how the media, the president, etc. think about it. Anyway I stood firm and refused to change my possition, you can't have it both ways. If you're against the loss of life then stand-up and be against the loss of ALL life. Don't spew sickning reterict just to make yourself look good, and then turn around and publicly fund other murders.

I think for the most part we all liked to think it was perhaps a bit of a conspiracy theorist nut job thing to assume the media was pro-abortion. The Gosnell trial and coverage - or lack thereof, really put to bed that the media is notoriously pro-abortion.

Even now I think the coverage is somewhat limited. They don't want the truth to get out. They dont' want people thinking for themselves that perhaps abortion isn't all its cracked up to be.

There are some pro-lifers making the argument that we shouldn't hold the Gosnell case up as some banner for the PL movement to get in behind because all it does is convince people that LTA are bad. All abortions are bad. They are true to an extent, but it gets peopel thinking. People who might not have ever really cared will have to face the fact that Gosnell, legally at the time, induced a pregnancy and then murdered the resulting born alive child. Yet, if that baby had come out dead, he'd be in the clear, legally protected, and protected by Obama's sick speeches. If people can then link that killing baby outside the womb at 38 weeks is just as bad as killing baby in the womb at 38 weeks, then perhaps they will conclude that baby at 8 weeks is the same baby at 38 weeks, only bigger.

With that said, I don't think gun violence and abortion are the same.

Abortion kills WAY more children. I mean, if guns killed 1.2 million children a year, how would people feel about that? Why are people outraged over a few thousand deaths a year [I read 30,000ish from gun violence in America], yet not 4,000 a day from abortion?

I did laugh at Obama's speech, it sounded so pro-life, like when he said the rights of an adult shouldn't impact on the right to life of a child.

Naomi, my point re gun violence was not related to numbers, rather the fact that killing a 6 year old child is a horrific crime (no arguments there) but killing an 8 week child in the womb is somehow acceptable, or somehow not murder. It's just getting rid of cells, etc..

I saw a great pro-life video earlier this year, and 95% of the video came from Obama's gun speech. It was a huge irony, but I really liked it because there is hope that people will start to conclude that murder is WRONG if it's done with "medical equiptment" inside the womb, or a gun outside the womb.
