I like people with personality.
There are the seemingly calm people who are empty and undeveloped and there are the truly calm who are full and developed.

And John, he is more than "somewhat" attractive to me!

I guess there may be a difference between levels of calmness: from "dead" to "strong/reasonable".
Hi Carol,

I decided upon the words, "at least somewhat attractive" because I did not want to assume more about the degree of attraction than I knew at the time.

Hi Meg,

Since I'm hungry at the moment, I would have preferred http://www.clam.com, but won't get crabby about it. I still very much appreciate your gesture. Actually I'd be equally happy with, http://www.ham.com, M'am. mischievous

Confidence can be tempered with vulnerability...That is very attractive--for a man to be strong and confident enough to show vulnerability, at least to a special few.

YES to Mr Calm is attractive... compare Gary Cooper to Jerry Lewis.

wave Welcome to the forums! You are right, of course, but we necessarily discuss this in generalizations.

There is, certainly, a difference between being even-tempered and unresponsive. Unfortunately, the word "calm" can be applied to both. Too often I have found that the still waters not only didn't run deep...but were actually stagnant.

I do like people who don't make a big fuss over small things. Volatility is never desirable, IMHO. But if I poke you with a stick, I like you to move. smile

YES.
Perhaps it's the difference between placid and passive.
