Sorry, Jerry, you have shown yourself to be very knowledgeable in many areas of the faith and of other rites.

But just as the Latin rite often makes accommodations for pastoral purposes, so can others. After all, they do have the same aim as we do, to bring their followers to a strong living faith.

Perhaps she was convinced that it was the Holy Eucharist, but in error...and perhaps she was convinced it was the Holy Eucharist and not in error. She's the only witness to the event...and not a credible one at that, being a self-professed EO or OO. All we can say is it probably was the Holy Eucharist, or it probably was eulogia. I would want to give the benefit of the doubt to her priest or bishop and say it was eulogia, rather than that he was allowing sacrilegious use of the Holy Eucharist.
