Fortnight for Freedom 6/21-7/4

Jun 20th 2013 new
The U.S bishops have called for a Fortnight for Freedom, a two-week period of prayer and action, to address many current challenges to religious liberty, including the August 1, 2013 deadline for religious organizations to comply with the HHS mandate, Supreme Court rulings that could attempt to redefine marriage in June, and religious liberty concerns in areas such as immigration and humanitarian services.

Here's what my diocese is doing: religiousliberty.rockforddiocese.org .
They're also providing car magnets to our parishes religiousliberty.rockforddiocese.org

I also know our bishop has asked for parishioners to say a decade of the rosary before or after all Masses celebrated within the Fortnight for Freedom which my parish will begin before the 8:00 mass tomorrow (6/21). And next Wednesday we will obseve a Vigil for Freedom beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The time is now folks. Speak now, or forever hold your peace!! Find our what your parish is doing. A special mass? A gathering for the rosary, daily? Notices in your parish bulletin? Will they receive car magnets?

Wendy,

Thank you for the reminder.

Perhaps this will inspire me to pray with more fervor in the next two weeks for Our Country and all the assaults on religious freedoms to end...and be redeemed...

Blessed Be,
Lisa

Pray the rosary during the Fortnight for Freedom 6/21 - 7/4/13.

As Padre Pio always use to say give me my weapon the rosary. We have to use our weapon the rosary to defeat everything that is happening in our culture.

Thank you for the post! I remember last year the church was fired up about this. I haven't heard anything at my church this year and will keep an eye and ear out and spread the word! We even had a special prayer card passed out last year. I will get mine out and start the novena.
You are a blessing, Wendy, thanks again. hug
