my summer took a different turn of events. The only traveling I'm doing is up to Boca Raton and home on a daily basis..then around town to the Casinos. I hope I can squeeze in a trip to Ky. before school starts here although my cousins told me it's not like it used to be for sightseeing due to the rain and humidty.
I wish I could do more traveling this summer, but so far I have managed to make it to my hometown in So. Indiana twice, and I went camping this past weekend just northwest of my home.. It was a cold, rainy, but awesome weekend away from home!! I'm hoping to go back this fall!!
I've decided to retire also in August, before school begins here. I can't wait. My plans are to go back to school to take courses in computers and to travel more. I am shy two years from my actual retirement date but it's worth it to me to go ahead and do it now. So many people I know are doing the same thing. I have organized a club on facebook for all the alumni for the school I'm currently in. we have 85 people writing in there on a daily basis. Once we reach 100 I'm going to have another reunion party for all of us. that alone keeps me busy.
My hometown is about twenty minutes from Athens, TN. However, my last residence in the states was Knoxville.
Summer travels ... I have been living out of a suitcase since Father's Day weekend. I worked and played in Tokyo for a week. Then, I flew to NYC and onto Boston for a fun intense week of early childhood education for professional development and fun with friends. Another part of the next week with cousins and family in the Boston area before driving from Boston to Tennessee (stopping to see friends along the way in D.C. / Georgetown, PA, VA, and then TN). I enjoyed two weeks with family and close friends in Tennessee before hopping back on the plane to Tokyo for two intense weeks of work and play. I will be sooooooooo happy to arrive at my condo in Singapore at about 2 am Singapore time on Sunday. It has been a long six or seven weeks, yet full of fun too!
